94.1 HJY in providence is playing TWAT.  They sound pretty excited about it!  They also comnfirmed that GNR will be playing Rio, and different festivals this summer.  But most important, they mentioned this website as "THE WEBSITE".

Christopher Blagg of the Boston Herald is reporting that Boson's WAAF was one of the first radio stations to air the recently leaked tunes from GUNS N' ROSES upcoming "Chinese Democracy" album, playing them for several days until lawyers for GN'R frontman Axl Rose called and asked the station to stop.

WAAF listeners were enthusiastic about the songs, according to Program Director Ron Valeri. "The intrigue around the material is massive, a lot of curiosity," he told the Boston Herald. "Everyone?s got an opinion, but I'd say overall (reaction) was favorable."

The Herald writer Blagg heard three of the songs on Thursday (Feb. 23), and described them as "not Axl's best. The new tunes lack the muscle and drive of classic GN'R, the melodies are forgettable and the new industrial/electronica accents sound forced, as if Rose is desperately trying to keep up with the kids."

GN'R has been working on "Chinese Democracy" for at least eight years ? will it finally be released this year? Valeri thinks the band?s plans to tour Europe this summer ? and the timing of the song leaks ? are hints that it will.

"Many are theorizing that it was Axl who made this stuff available," he said. "Frankly, it wouldn't be a bad idea. Put a feeler in the water, see how much attention you get from the media. I think he's probably got to feel pretty good about this."

"Keeping up with the kids?" Electronica is like sooooo 1994.  The "kids" are now 30+ years old! I hope Blagg is aware that these are demos btw. Doesn't sound like electrica to me anyway. Dumbass.

It doesn't sound like them.   Someone please check it out too.
Never heard any of the songs.
It's none of the leaks I heard.

I'm listening to their live feed.  Sounds like a typical "morning zoo" type of show.  Can you provide more information on this?

Oh.. wait. .they just mentioned GNR.  Hmm..

and now I realized its the Cowhead show.  Yeah, they're talking about new tracks - but I must be in late as I haven't actually heard the songs they're discussing yet.  (I'm assuming its IRS / whatever)

I just caught them in the middle.  So I didn't hear the first song.
Sounds like they got a hold of old demos.  Like Crash Diet or something.

"I.R.S." had been added to the rotation bins of several rock radio stations across the country after the tracks leaked last week. But like the Web sites that had been offering downloads, those stations have, for the most part, stopped airing the track. However, enough stations reported playing "I.R.S." to propel the song to the #49 spot on the radio trade magazine Radio & Records' Active Rock National Airplay chart for the week ending February 24; Geffen/ Interscope is listed as the band's label.

Check it out, IRS got played enough to make a radio chart.

Imagine if it came out as an official single?

tons of number 1's are on this album!

They should release 2 or 3 songs to be their first single, play the shit out them, then release 2 or 3 more play the shit out of those, then in a years time we'll be ready for the next album, which is probably close to being done.

93x had a nightly 'cage match' contest, but GNR isn't listed there anymore.  Can someone from Minnesota let us know why?  Did they lose, or did they get a C&D letter first?

someone in a different message board  posted this :

"A local station, WIRX, www.wirx.com played CITR this morning on the Jason Lee show. The DJ's were big fans of this song. They played Better yesterday...Jason Lee didn't like it but the other guy did not. I just can't believe they are still playing this stuff after all of these C&D's have supposedly been sent."

does anybody know if it's true??

Atleast change the title of the thread now considering Music Choice is on Digital Cable and not a radio station.

Isn't it basically a radio station that you get via your cable company? So it's like radio without commercials....

Eh kinda... There are no DJ's and shit. Each channel is its own brand of music. You cant call in or request. Its like a video channel minus the videos. So I do not know how they would get a hold of the song.
