Not to mention that Dave is the vocalist AND the guitarist. Can't say the same for Axl.

Now.. If Axl had started off SCOM with his guitar during the music video.. AND sang.. then maybe Slash leaving wouldn't have been that big a deal.

Also... does Megadeth play Psychotron at their concerts? Its probably the only song I like off of Countdown To Extinction.. would love to hear it live.
Ive seen em 3 times, never seen them play psychotron, And your spot on about Axl, Plus if you look in the songwriting credits of any Megadeth record, Dave wrote 99% of the songs.

I think the last Powerfull album was Peace sells, not to create polemics but Even though I like a lot Countdown, Youthanesia, Crypting and System I didn't find anything powerfull as the songs of peace sells.

His aggressive style has always been there, no matter what instrument plays.
But returning to Jackson is like drool? hell, that guy played those guitars during a long time.?

I'm curious where you heard that.  Not that I don't believe you, but I thought he was pretty pissed at Jackson over something or other ...

It's new Megadeth, and it's no attempt to be heavy, just commercial. I didn't like it, but I wasn't surprised at it. Megadeth really went down after their first album, and never really regained the magic, except on Rust In Peace. For a mainstream metal band, it's decent, though.

Peace Sells? Megadeth mainstream?

Peace Sells came out just months after Master of Puppets, and it was definitely a move to mainstream metal, an appeal to popularity. It's decent, but it's not as heavy or as brutal as Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good. The production is noticibly shinier, but while KIMB's production was really a little too cheap, Peace Sells went in the other direction. However, KIMB sounds great on the remaster, so that problem is solved.

Megadeth is mainstream as far as metal goes. You can find their CDs in Best Buy, for crying out loud! Try looking for Grand Belial's Key, Grom, or Gorguts. Wink

?Peace Sells? is one of the greatest thrash-metal albums off all time whether it's popular or not.

It's a decent album, but you can't deny that it was an appeal to popularity, especially following KIMB. It isn't nearly as harsh or raw. Megadeth's rivalry with Metallica is well known, and you can't deny that Master of Puppets drastically affected the thrash scene. This is definitely heard in Peace Sells, which is much, much less thrashy than KIMB.

I'm not attacking popularity; I'm attacking populism. Albums made for the sake of attracting the masses almost always suffer. Peace Sells definitely did, but it's still listenable; it's just not in the same league as KIMB or Rust In Peace.

Do you not think that with Rust in Peace they were also trying to appeal to popularity? I don't really find RIP any more tr00 than Peace Sells.
