people drink and express their opinions too.. Some will look up at that stage and say this is fucking bullshit, gnr is not axl, he fucking is wrong for keeping this going without those who made this band huge.. That's a reality people need to accept..
The ones who would say that are the ones who need to face reality.  Anyone who would go to the show and say that is wasting their time... they'd be better off staying at home watching their old DVDs.

I was at msg hearing all my favorite tunes wondering who everyone was... it said gnr. I see a guy who resembles axl, but who are those other guys?
do you need it spelled out for you?

I love Slash and really wish he was back in the band but I get over it and I accept the new band for who they are and see what they can offer music today.

Buckethead...I actually like his playing now. Before I was skeptical but he is one hell of a guitarist and hes quite a unique character. Is a shame that hes not in the band but if it is in the best interests of both parties then so be it.

It's not like anyone isn't accepting the new band, it's just not eevryone going to all teh shows are 100% aware of the situation... I think the nyc people will know the best being it's a small venue with the pre sales and all, but large venues you'll get some people clueless..

Yeah but you can't give all the new guys hassle just because they were asked to be in one of the biggest bands in the world and get paid shit loads of money to produce music.

I don't think anything bad of the new guys, they jumped at a chance of a lifetime, lots of years with nothing but finally their big break with axl..

it's just you can't just expect every fan to just accept what happened and how axl keeps the name..

Most peole want to belive gnr has been some living breathing animal for the past ten years where everyone knows the score, when in reality most of the old gnr fans thought it died in 94 or earlier.... You could have blinked in 02 and missed eveyrthing..

Maybe to you man, this is not gnr to me.. Anyone can put a name on something it doesn't make it the same. These are just some guys axl hired so he could get his songs done that are kept in the dark with no say... Like your boss at work.. here's some money, here's the prints now go..

I find it funny how some of you try and force this band on others who were gnr fans their whole life..

it's my business on what I feel is gnr or why I want to see axl only, or why I don't give  a fuck who else is in the band now..

Slash izzy duff and steve will always be gnr regardless... Just because someone loses the belt doesn't mean you can't still call him the champ..

Hmm... Maybe to you.

Lets see.
Slash... Nope
Duff... Nope
Izzy... Nope
Steven... Nope
A band with 4 of it's members gone is not the same band anymore.

They are, Just like it says on my ipod, Axl+Friends.

I agree nobody can force their opinion on what is or isn't GnR, but the chanting crosses a line.  It potentially ruins the concert experience for others.  Protest in ways that don't hurt other people - avoid the show, don't buy the records (if there are any!), etc.

No one is forcing anything.  You are the one who choose to go see this band play.   You know damn well Slash (or Buckethead) is not going to be there, so if you are going to yell for Slash, you are being ignorant.    I dont understand why someone would waste their time if they plan on going to a show and looking up at the stage and saying, 'This is fucking bullshit'.   You can at least have respect.

thank you!   There is no reason to mess this up for everyone!   We all know Axl is touchy and depending on his mood he could do anything.   Respect.

For once i agree with you JimBob....I mean I love old GnR and all but if you go to see a show, cheer or hold your peice.

there is no reason for catcalls...at all no

but It's not cuz I'm worried about Axl or anybody flipping out....just to respect the band....when ever i see a band I always cheer when a song ends, just to say, "I appreciate what you guys are doing....keep up the good work" peace

I see where mikeg is coming from too though...and I;m kinda in the same boat...

he doesn't really give a crap about the rest of the band...as long as they don't fuck up. hihi

his loyalties are with the orig band members...he's gonna be there to see axl and izzy if he shows...and hope for a reunion peace

I'm not gonna lie either if GnR comes around my way I'll be there to see Axl....I'll still cheer the rest of the band though, of course, and scream just as loudly for the solos and antics of rest of the band members beer

I'm paying to see Axl Rose and the new version of guns n roses... I could care less about the old band.

If any original members showed up it would be cool, but I definitely wouldn't be let down if no one did. I don't know if the old guys even have enough creative juices left to go in the new direction Axl wants to go in... I mean what have they done worth while since Axl (the brainchild) hasn't been there to guide them/push them... the crowning achievement I guess would be "Contraband."  hihi rofl

I'd take the 4 demos over "contraband" for $15.00 any day... the music is just better.. hands down. peace

Hmm don't wanna start shit here but they've done more than Axl Tongue

Izzy has released like 4 or 5 albums
Duff has released 4 or five albums
Slash has released 3 albums and done all kinds of other shit
Gilby has several albums too
Matt has remained busy with several things and released a couple albums
Steven has even been busy and has an album

please don't turn this into a "slash has done this axl has done that thread" peace

I think Mr. I wasn't talking about quantity, but quality.

Pretty much everything you mentioned above is, at best, VERY average material.

Oh Yeah, no doubt they've done WAYYYYYYYY more quantity wise... but NOTHING has even came close to living up to what Guns N Roses used to be.... and NOTHING they have done will live up to what the new Guns N Roses will be...

It's pretty obvious that Axl was the brainchild/creative impetus behind the band. However, I'll also point out that I don't think Axl could have had near the success that he did without the original 4 guys, he had an AMAZING rhythym section, and an AMAZING lead guitar in Slash. It just seemed to me that Axl was the engine that made those parts work to the best of their ability... peace

Now, I digress.

I'm not bias... I just listen to the music and state my opinion. If Axl was putting out shit I'd tell you so....... he remains to be judged completely, but the demos are good in my opinion.. the stuff other guys have done is nothing more than average really.

I love Buckethead, and I think he was the PERFECT virtuoso, mysterious lead guitarist for the new band... BUT not enough to cause a scene about it and ruin the show I'm going to (5/12/06). Most everyone in the band seems to think they're better off without him (and who am I to argue with people who actually toured and recorded with the guy?), and I'm confident that whoever Axl has for the third slot is KICK ASS... he wouldn't go out there with some hack... he needs somebody that can play Slash's and Bucket's material flawlessly... you don't get some drip to do that. It will be another virtuoso... just a question of who.

I would see any of the original five by themselves... I'm sure people saw vr just for slash or whoeevr their favorite was, this is no difference...

I just don't follow a band my entire life then axl hand picks whoever and call it the same name.. They were to huge important and successfull for that.. This isn't winger, this was gnr..

regardless what the fans scream ... Buckethead and Herbie have kept their silence about Axl and GNR and havent badmouthed them one bit ... Axl really hasnt been too negative either which is cool (unlike tommy) ... I just hope that Axl can stay cool on this matter and not use Bucket as a starting point for his onstage rants.

Whatever happened there , drop it and move on .. Buckethead obviously has. Ya know?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Axl went off on Bucket onstage.  But, I hope he doesn't because it would be classier if he didn't, and it would likely piss Brain off.  On another note, I don't understand why Tommy takes every chance to slam Bucket.  Bucket must have really rubbed Tommy the wrong way because he's seems like such a cool guy otherwise.
