This is the article from VG:

http://www.vg.no/pub/vgart.hbs?artid=118486

(I'll try and translate, but my english isn't perfect, sorry  Tongue)

See, he's alive!(Character 3 out of 6)

With a "pyrobang" suddently he stood there and squealed Welcome to the jungle; The most "wanted" person in rock the later years, Axl Rose.

Fact:
Concert: Guns N'Roses
Place: Centerstage, Rock Am Ring
Publicum: Ca. 70 000

The manic moves on the scene are the same, but maybe not as many. Visually has he in every way got more adult, when he comes comes on with sunglasses and with his coloured hair fold  and tied tight in a ponytail. But the "antiaircraft-siren" of a voice is definitively the same, even if he doesn't use it as often as he did before.

It all promised so well. Welcome to the jungle, is one of the "scene-rock's" classic openers, and 70 000 germans- who waited patient on the almost 2 hours delayed concert, responsed with enthusiastic moshing and crowdsurfing. But then something happens. Already before ten minutes has past, people understand that there are something wrong with Axl and the band, who also contains his former colleague Dizzy Reed on keyboard.

At first, we thought there were something wrong with the sound, the boys goes back on the scene and talks to eachother, and it seems like they're covering something. But as time goes by, the "schizofrenia" of todays sceneversion of GN'R.  Half of the two hours and twenty minutes long concert is throwed away in different endless "solobatches", especially from the two guitarists

It gets to a point where you are standing and screaming silently "Slash, come back, please!" when the "guitar-masturbation " rofl  gets to new hights and becomes effective "show-ruiners" in worldclass!

We never get to decide if this is a concert or a jam. Id doesn't get better when Axl invites out his friend, Seb. Bach (Skid Row) to sing a false version of My Michelle, while Axl does his best to ruin the Wings version of Live and Let die, drag out Bob Dylans "KOHD" to the point where it gets boring, and also seem totally uninterested to put power behind "SCOM".   Thats when we miss Slash!

However, there is glimpse of old old greatness. Axl does a wonderful November Rain by the piano, give goosebumps to the whole arena on Patience, and ends with a bang (04.00 in the night(morning!) with "PC", on a way that doesn't step back a bit for the old original GN'R.
But its "a sin" that it doesn't happen more often. Axl Rose is definitively alive, but neither he or his new Guns are very focused in 2006..

Just use your head and in the end
You?ll find your inspiration,
To choose your steps, I won't regret
This kind of aggravation
