I'll be seeing it on Saturday (it's released tomorrow in the UK). Have heard nothing but good things about it so far. Smiley

In Bruges

I love that movie.

Watched American Reunion. I was class of '99 and remember seeing the first in theaters when it came out. It was the only decent high school movie of the late 90's. This movie was funny and reminded me of my own high school experience. The late 90's soundtrack was a nice touch, so were some of the jokes targeting that time period for the punchline. I liked it.

Most of the films I've watched this year already.

The good:-

Flypaper
Friends with benefits
Haywire

The Ledge
J.Edgar
Puss in Boots
Real Steel
Seeking Justice
The Change up
The Girl with a Dragon tattoo (2011)
The Guard
The Thing (2011)
Tower heist

Whats Your Number
Zodiac

The shite films that you must avoid at all cost:-

The Samaritan
This must be the place
Bad ass
Drive
Insidious
Texas Killing Fields
The Big bang
The Grey
The Rum Diary
The Three Musketeers (2011 - lasted about 11 minutes before I turned it off)

Saw Avengers Assemble, and it actually exceeded my expectations.

It is not an Oscar worthy film as such, but in terms of Superhero related films, it works very well. It has the classic essence of a superhero film, the actors gel amazingly, it is funny and the action sequences are second to none.

Ironman has the best lines, but I liked the friction between the different Avengers. Even the Hulk had his moments.

Battleship - This is one of the cheesiest movies you will ever see. It is America patting America on the back, the usual Hollywood fodder, but it is a good film to see.

Whoever conconcted all of it is a genius, to be fair. The scale of the whole project is grand, and they have blended everything so perfectly.

The film is record breaking, apparently  ok

I just hope all the future sequels do not spoil what has been a good journey so far.

Snow White and The Huntsman - It was ok. The Huntsman's accent varied from Thor to a bad drunken Scottish accent which spoilt it a little. And Snow White did not carry her role too well, her rousing battle speech had no gravitas. I did like the dwarves though, and thought the filming technique there was well done.

Men In Black III - It does what it says on the tin, it is a very watchable film and great fun to watch. Because of the nature of the story, I am sure there are probably alot of the flaws to the story if you analyse it too much, but it is not one I would want to analyse to be honest.

ROCK OF AGES. It was very different from the musical but I loved it! Tom Cruise was awesome as Stacee Jaxx I also loved the cameos by Baz and Constantine.

Promotheus - Fans of Ridley Scott will love this, and it is probably one of his better films. It has horror elements to it, and you do think about the film after you leave the cinema. If you are not a fan of Ridley Scott films though, I'd would swerve it.

Red Lights - I did not expect alot of this film at all, so I was pleasantly surprised when I went to see it. The film attempts to be clever and intellectual, and it works to a certain degree; this is helped by all the actors and actresses do a superb job playing their roles. There are some some excellent horror elements to it, this was helped by the excellent use of sound on the film. The ending is also worth seeing, I am not sure if it quite worked, but I was happy with it.

A Perfect Getaway (2009)

This is a movie I was intrigued by when i saw the trailer, but must have forgot about it, since it pretty much bombed

I bought it for a couple bucks a couple years back when my local blockbuster went under... I just stumbled upon it while going through a box..

Great flick... Does well at keeping you guessing, who done it.. May be a little cliche in spots, but that's to be expected...

Battleship-I liked it a lot-I like disaster/alien invasion movies, and it was fun-you have to suspend disbelief, but it kept me entertained the whole time.

Rock of Ages-pretty bad-I thought maybe I would like it-the singing is actually not bad, but the writing is so cheesy and bad, and none of the characters are likeable, especially Tom Cruise. A lot of the movie just made me cringe.
