Rock of Ages-pretty bad-I thought maybe I would like it-the singing is actually not bad, but the writing is so cheesy and bad, and none of the characters are likeable, especially Tom Cruise. A lot of the movie just made me cringe.

It is fun, because of the songs, but that is about it. It must be hard creating a stage show around existing songs.

I am looking forward to the Les Mis film though

The Amazing Spider-Man. Much better than I expected it to be. I didn't really see the point of them doing the origin story again, but I think they actually handled it better than the first movie, which was in far too much of a rush and had him get bitten five minutes into the movie, before you'd even got a chance to know him. It's not as good as Spider-Man 2, which is still one of the best superhero movies ever made, but it's better than the others.

A select group of 40-50 people saw a preview of the new Batman film, and it got a standing ovation and left some of the viewers speechless and in tears. It, apparently, ends the trilogy in an appropriate manner, and in many ways in better than the last movie. It is also better than Avengers and Amazing Spiderman

The odds for various Oscar glory relating to the film have also dropped dramatically in the past 24 hours

To Rome with Love - not nearly as good as last year's Midnight in Paris, but still pretty decent - especially Ellen Page and Jesse Eisenberg's scenes together.

The Road (2009)

Very good end of the world film with great performance by Viggo and the kid that plays his son. Surprisingly not long though and isn't that much of a Sci-Fi/Fantasy film when you ignore the context of film.

Ted (2012)

Hilarious like a rom com version of Family Guy with more swearing.

Promotheus - Fans of Ridley Scott will love this, and it is probably one of his better films. It has horror elements to it, and you do think about the film after you leave the cinema. If you are not a fan of Ridley Scott films though, I'd would swerve it.

I'm fan of Ridley Scott films. I thought it was rubbish. It's way too short and rushes through plot.

High logic gaps like *Spoiler alert* captain of that ship sacrificing his life and the ship after like 30 seconds of dialogue or something and the other crew choosing to sacrifice themselves too without blinking. Same captain who didn't seem overly concerned about the 2 people left behind on the Alien ship, not long before.

The android's intentions are never explained throughout film and it's not in good guessing way, it's in a lets have him do things to serve the plot in way possible without reason.

I think they worked on the trailers longer than the script.

Man you should really give it another view...most of the answers you have are in the film..you just have to know how to look for them...hint: theres WAY more going on in every scene than most people caught onto.....cheers!  beer

The Dark Night Rises - Mighty disappointing; Heath Ledger is sorely missing. No dramatic tension, never given a reason to care about anyone or anything that's going on, and it's incredibly irritating how 95% of the movie occurs during daylight - isn't Batman primarily supposed to come out at night?

Yeah perfect ending to the trilogy, which is a hard thing to do when the expectations are so high.  For me this was definitely the best Batman, followed by Batman Begins then the Dark Knight.  They were all great, but thats how I would rank them right now.

I liked Dark Knight Rises-I liked Dark Knight better, but I may go see DKR again-it's a very complex movie-I did not care for the ending, but overall I liked it.
