On this update, if people who are going to the show are reading this, could you please tell us if "thousands of people are leaving the show because of the solos". I appreciate when people tell us the setlist, but I would like to know the audiences reaction. Whiny... on another  topic...is writing that the audience is growing bored with GNR and leaving in droves.
From this site I have been reading that, while the professional reviewers have been giving GNR low marks, that the audience has been loving it. This, of course, will not sway me from seeing GNR when they hit Texas. I just want to know the facts, because it actually makes me angry when I read a negative post about the concert that was suppposedly kickass. This is because I have no frame of reference to give a rebuttal to. This post is for not only this concert but the ones coming up.
I know I am asking a lot but I promise when I post my reviews of the concert in Texas you will know everything, including the leg of the stripper I snorted splenda off of (if my wife will let me).

Did GNR already announce US tour dates or are you just using this as an example?

Thanks.

It'd be cool if the Space shuttle took off the same time GNR hit the stage. ?But I think weather may not be good for launch.

Only reason I can think of is that the insane high notes in that song do some wear and tear on his voice. As great of a song as it is, not worth him blowing his voice out over it - same with Rhiad more than likely. Catcher In The Rye would fit in quite nicely though!

I dont see how the TWAT notes are any diff from the high bit in better and he seems to have cut down on the screaming in hammerstein as compared with the demo. I think he should put TWAT in and drop one song. Also should change it up between normal knocking and this 'new version' variate stuff.

I'm sure TWAT will make sporadic appearances the rest of the tour. I'm just curious as to why Rhiad hasn't been played yet if Bumblefoot had to learn it..

That's why TWAT isn't played yet:

About There Was a Time, the song is, in everybody opinion, amazing, but the song might be too complex and long and might scare the audience who are not aware of the new songs, and of course, Axl does not want to ruin his songs before CD is out ...

From gunsnroses.us, they spoke to some members at the after-show party in Paris .

Yeah, both Chris Pittman and Del James told us that.

If these songs are too complex, then maybe some UYI stuff could be a good idea...

"some UYI stuff" is too complex as well, maybe that's why they don't play it no

Maybe they should hire MORE keyboard players, MORE guitar players, an extra drummer (hey, they can keep Frank Ferrer abourd when Brain returns), a horn section and some background singers if the song is too complex.? hihi

I don't think the length of the song would scare the audience, some solos take more time than that song.

Anyway, I kinda feel sorry for those of you who go to like 4 shows or more (I saw two, that's enough for this summer) since they always play kinda the same show (though it's the greatest show on earth) and there's no chance of hearing any new songs.

I don't buy that the songs are 'too complex'. Lots of bands that play music much more complex than GNR.

What I think they mean is they haven't practiced it enough. Hopefully for the US fans that will be fixed between july end and september.

I have listened to AFD, YUI1&2, Live Era, GH a thousand times.  They are always the same, every time I listen to them - they don't change one bit - but I love them.

I have seen the band 2 times this year 5/21 & 5/17 and I plan on seeing them as many times as I can this year.  If I get anything like I did in Hammerstien, then I will feel privledged(?) even if it's the smae exact show.  Just getting the oportunity to see this band live is special.

In other news. . .

I would like to thank everybody for the show updates - it's greatly appreciated .

You are welcome! Since it was absolutely forbidden to bring any cameras but phones, I even got to see the show even though I had to write updates. Ok, a working cell phone helps, too.
Anyway, no pics this time. But I wrote a review in the On Tour section if anyone is interested.

So nobody gives a fuck if I find that guitar funny and if I think that the most important thing is the sound getting out of a guitar and not just the look of it?

Too bad...
