How do you think the song will be titled on the CD?  What do you prefer?  I'm really curious about this.

I don't know about that. Certainly the lyrics/meaning should have been the driving force of the song writing, however, Axl's a writer and an artist...plain and simple. Being able to spot/use subtle nuances and wordplay is all part of being a great lyric writer. 'There Was a Time' might be a perfect phrase for telling the story of the song, but there are plenty of ways to do that. Why choose 'There Was a Time'...maybe BECAUSE it's acronym also serves as an ironic title for a very ironic and twisted jilted 'love song.'

That's my take anyway.? Wink

...and of course, let's not forget the anagram for the man's name, "Axl Rose."   hihi
It should be referred to on the album as There Was a Time.  I think that's pretty obvious.  Until we hear Axl calling it TWAT, There Was a Time will do.....that song just kicks ass so hard!  Damn I love that new intro.  drool
...did I mention I agree with Sinshine?  peace

T.W.A.T. is the name of the song, right? I don't think it'll change. In the title's abbreviation lies half the song's meaning.

I too vote for There Was A Time, though I believe the double meaning was intentional but will remain subtle

btw, talking about this song, I've been completely hooked to the Madrid live version lately.. I think it sounds amazing live, there's something about Robin's solo live that is more powerful, he plays certain parts slightly different and I love those little changes! though Ron changes his solo a bit too much IMO and I like bucket's solo in the demo more... but it's a great version, what did you think of twat live?

T.W.A.T. (There Was a Time)

or

T.W.A.T.

It's obvious what the initials stand for when you hear the song, so it's not really necessary to put the full title on the packaging.

I haven't heard a Madrid version. I thought the song was only performed once at Hammerstein on the 12th? Could you send me that, would love to hear it. I think it's a very hard song to perform live, such a big song. Try singing it over the instrumental, I guarantee you'll get out of breath! Also I don't think anyone can pull off Buckets solo like the man himself, Robin does his parts perfect though.

There Was A Time is my fav of the new songs and I think that is how it will be named on the album. Didn't Tommy or one of the guys say they just call it TWAT in rehearsals? Like it's a little joke between the band and obv it's easier than saying the full title.

I think it's gonna be a permanent fixture in the CD setlist after the album is released. Probably just Axl holding it back till then. But I'm only guessing, would definitely love to hear this song played live, I'm sure the band will do a top-notch job of it!
