Board members attending: CalgaryMuscle, chemeister, damnthehaters, evergreen_layne, GNR4L, hunterwh, jpet101, mikeb, Mike McKagan

I'm sure we'll at least get some reviews. There's some semi-regulars attending.

Hey - just got back from the show.  No Paradise City on the encore!!!

Axl seemed in good spirits.  Here's the highlights:

       -  After LALD he told a story about Paul McCartney's kid telling his Dad how cool it was of him to cover a GNR song
       -  After Better he said "I know we're not supposed to talk about it, but that was a song from our "forthcoming album."  He said it with a grin and then said something            else but nothing really of note.  He was giggling and such but it was hard to get a read on any album release hints.
       -  Before Patience he yelled "FUCK!!!"  and then "FUCK!!!!" again but it seemed in good fun.  Like he was trying to give be super aggresive as an intro to a slow song            as a joke.
       -  IRS was a highlight again but the performance in Everett had a little more oomph.
       -  They played DOTF!  Was another highlight.  They killed it.
       -  Played UTLH and then into Nighttrain.  Seemed like the crowd was thinning out a little bit.
       -  Encore:  Chinese Democracy into Madagascar......I was loving every minute of it but it seemed like the GA crowd wasn't giving him what he wanted.
       -  He said "Thank you goodnight"  after Madagascar and then the band exited the stage.  After about 30 seconds the house lights came up and that was it.

So I'm not sure why he ended the show with no PC.  There was still a good size crowd there (around 6000-7000 people) and people were loving it.  Guess Portland didn't give what he was looking for.  I sure did and I rocked the fuck out during the entire show.  Better and IRS and The Blues were all among the best performances I've ever seen.  Dizzy did "Angie" for his solo and Richard and Robin did "Angel" again.

setlist was real similar to last night with the addition of DOTF and the subtraction of PC.  Not sure why.........

No Paradise City?  Shocked

So it was just a Chinese Democracy and Madagascar encore?

Tonights show was EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!
I saw Everett last night and this takes the cake mister.
No Paradise City though. Chinese and Maddy were the encore. Down on the Farm was played.
Audience was great. Bigger and better crowd than last night.
Suicide Girls were awesome as usual and Bach was like some frontman master. His drummer had a solo that was mindblowing.

Thank you GNR! Thank you Bach! Thank you Suicide Girls!

EXCELLENT F-ING SHOW!!!!!

My feet are killing me though.
Night.

They probably ran out of time at the end and couldn't fit Paradise City in. Glad to hear it was a good show - thanks for the reviews!  peace

Nah it didn't seem like they ran out of time.  Its just one more song.  He kinda sounded let down when he said "Thank you goodnight."  The floor did look a little thin by then but its Monday night ya know?  There was a definite feeling of exhaustion in the arena......but that was just because we had our faces melted......

Just got back.  Too exhausted to do the show justice right now, but I'll try to get a full review up soon.

It was a fuckin' magical night to be sure, though I'm as puzzled as everyone else about the lack of Paradise City.  Something must have changed their minds, because I was right up in front of the confetti cannons and they loaded them before the show, but didn't use them.  As we were leaving, they set off some of the pyro that had been loaded for the finale.  Either something rubbed Axl the wrong way, or there was some other type of difficulty.

Anybody know how many GN'R shows in history have ended without PC being played?  In a wierd way, I feel like I witnessed history tonight.  Hehe.

Okay, more later.

AXL FUCKING ROCKS.

Not many, if you leave out the riot shows etc. In Ritz '91 Paradise City was in the middle of the set, but that was a warm-up show so maybe they just wanted to try something new. But there has been some other gigs too; for example when Duff was ill, someone threw a bottle on-stage or they ended the show with Technical Difficulties. I think they had a good reason to leave it out this time too, let's just wait for Ron's comment or something..

That's interesting. Not even Axl can talk about it?

At least you guys had Madagascar and DOTF. Sounds like a good show even without PC ok

Isn't that like the first time he ever said something like this during this tour? I read a lot of postings bitching about why Axl never introduces the new songs en mentioning the album...

Very interesting indeed.

It leaves us with 2 possible explanations. Axl was making an in-joke at himself for being so secretive about the album, or there are some legal matters that prevent him from going in to detail about it for the moment.

I was at Newcastle in the summer that ended with no encore because some fucking cock knocker threw a coin at Axl.

Was still the best of the 4 shows I went to though, the energy of that show was unreal.
