everyone who says football is just a game, doesn't know shit about that beautiful sport.

it's a business now, like pretty much every major sport has become, it's more about money than the game. club loyalties are pretty much dead thanks to the crazy money thrown around, the sooner a cap system is put into place the better.

I also think it's redicuous how much football players get payed, no need for it. That's why I think our England team are so lackluster, because of all the holidays, sportscars and sponsership deals. They have no reason to train and become better players because they are already rich as hell.

I think what Rooney did recently was disgusting, causing confusion and threatening to leave Man United all because he wanted more money, and a better contract. What a selfish individual, and he eventually got it, like a spoiled child.

The days of Pele, Best and Cantona are over. Because all players seem interested in these days is money. Roll Eyes

Yes I agree, that the fans are very real and passionate.

They are the only thing positive about football really at the moment.  yes

And I'm not talking about the World Cup, I'm talking about Club football, that is where the real problem lies. No player has a loyalty to a specific club, because when a better payday comes along they are gone, that's what's wrecking the true meaning of football, like the good old days.

Well, you can't say that about ALL players. In Germany, we luckily still have some players, that love the clubs they play in and stay true to them.
Another example is Gerrard and Liverpool

Gerrard, Totti and Raul (before being forced out of Madrid) are old school examples.

That is true, I agree, but it isn't like Gerrard isn't on a substantial amount of money anyway.

Name me a player who is in a struggling club, on a normal football salary. And are you telling me that just because he has supported the club since he was 7, he won't go to a star studded club, and be on 10x the pay if he was offered the opportunity to. look at Rooney and Everton, he was their hero until he ditched them in return for a better payday at United

Believe me money is a big part of players loyalties, and again I'm not talking about every single player in the world. But most of the English Premier league is like that, money hungry people.

He's shite. Liverpool are shite. He gets paid ?100,000 to play shite and dive! If the fella was any good he'd have shown it at the world cup. Sure he can score a 30 yarder vs West Ham but he ain't the player england think/want. He'll be playing in Italy next year lazing around diving collecting his paycheck. You fucking watch!

Man City have spent loads of Huh and they've also gained loads of fans. Like Chelsea a few years ago. I never knew any chelsea fans until they got money, now all these Man City fans appear. Fuck it, if it gets stupid support a team in the lower leagues.

to be fair to man city fans they were averaging over 30,000 fans in league 1. so they can't really be compared to chelsea, who had fuck all support before the money came in.

Yes, I'm already thinking about the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.  Cool

Can't wait, Brazil will be in devastating form, with it being held in their home country.  drool

Can't you just find some streams online? They're free.

I'm gonna follow, like I did the past 2 Copa Americas. High hopes for Argentina this year, since they are the hosts.  Smiley

Thought about it, but nnnah. Streams are streams and TV is TV Smiley Big difference in my opinion. Plus, this way I get Finnish commentary for most of the matches (English for the rest).. I don't know if it's just me, but I can't stand Spanish/Portuguese commentary hihi

Lol, I know what you're talking about. I got tired of streams a long time ago, bought a little thing called dreambox and all problems regarding watching sports got solved. Almost 10,000 channels so you can basically watch everything you want at any time you want.  Cheesy

About the South American commentators - I just enjoy turning up my TV to the max in the middle of the night and waking up my neighbors when somebody scores.  rofl
