I read somewhere that Ticketmaster and the other tickets sites can move 17,000 tickets a minute...So if its a highly popular show...It's very easy not to get tickets

A question for anyone in England and Ireland. I thought Black Ice wasn't out here till the 20th of October but I walked into both  HMV and Zavvi and eventually bought it in Zavvi. So what's the story or did they decide to move it up a few days ?

AC/DC Debuts At Number 3 In Australia

by Paul Cashmere - October 20 2008

The AC/DC `Black Ice` album became the third biggest selling album in Australia last week, after stores broke an embargo and put it on sale early.

Although officially released on Saturday October 18, ?Black Ice? could be easily bought on Friday October 17.

The Australian chart is calculated from Saturday to Friday, so the Friday sales last week counted towards this weeks chart ? or did they?

The title clocked up sales of 7265 units making it the third biggest selling album of the week behind Kings of Leon ?Only By The Night? and the compilation album ?So Fresh ? The Hits of Spring 2008?.

Kings of Leon sold 26593 units (including downloads) making it an easy winner over ?So Fresh? with 10,239 units (which as a compilation only had physical sales).

Strangely, ARIA has chosen not to list ?Black Ice? in the overall chart despite awarding Kings of Leon a chart position for ?Only By The Night? just a month back when the same thing happened and stores broke the embargo and put it on sale early.

When 4751 units of Kings of Leon ?Only By The Night? sold early, the title was listed as the number three album of the week, behind ?Breakout? Miley Cyrus and Metallica ?Death Magnetic? or at number 5 if compilations were counted. AC/DC has missed out on that same courtesy.

Unlike in the USA, in Australia, compilation albums are eliminated from the removed from the album chart as they often overshadow.

Although robbed of a chart position this week, despite qualifying as the bona-fide number three album (or two album after removing compilations), AC/DC should easily top next weeks chart.

The album is available with four different coloured album covers as well as a package with a T-Shirt.

I believe AC/DC's new album will be a good indication, it seems Wall Mart pulls out all the stops to make sure it's a hit.

See this article:

http://www.bostonherald.com/entertainment/music/general/view/2008_10_20_Wal-Mart_and_AC_DC_agree:_Moneytalks!

I'm sure Best Buy will do anything they can to make sure it's a big seller.

Edit, oops put in in the wrong thread, sorry Jarmo  ok
The best buy line is obviously aimed at Gn'R and not AC/DC...

Like a well worn pair of sneakers...you can alway count on AC/DC.  Hear R&RT...thought it was some old lost gem...

Of Course the Brian Johnson clock is ticking...Mick Jagger can mumble his way into his 80's, but can Brian keep the wail going much longer?

For the record Mick Jagger does not mumble in concert!. Does he sound like he did when he was 20? -  no - but who does?

So what's everyone's opinion on the Black Ice album?

Any count?

I've not yet had time to listen to it.

All the new songs i have heard so far are great. I wish I could have got a ticket to one of the shows in my area. I heard that Brian said, this my be their last tour and album. That would suck.

Better that this is it than Stiff Upper Lip...an ok album, but somewhat meek, in my opinion.

This is ultra cheesy, but my friends and I are going to go on a train ride the day of our AC/DC show.

It gets cheesier, we're gonna sing the train song a capella for everyone to hear.

And yes, we shake like Malcolm does when he provides his backing vocals.
