Does anyone know when it will be out, there is no news on their site... so I was wondering whats up.

I think the follwup to the selftitled will be even better.

I think so too.. Chris Cornell is so brilliant, I doubt it's possible for him to put out anything subpar. You should all check out his solo album Euphoria Morning, if you haven't already. Great material.

By the way didn't Axl once say something about how Cornell's voice is simply amazing etc?

I think the last thing that was said about their new album was that they were starting to work on it. I think this was back in March or so.

Yeah there is going to be a second album it should even be better than the first one. I know my local rock station is playing "What You Are" so the first one still going strong.

Here is the lastest news as of 3/30/04

With any luck, now they have settled down as a band, their second album will be a bit more dynamic - their first album is good but lacks that bit of magic the truly great albums have - it wasn't as good as most of the RATM albums and i hope for more from Cornell and Morello especially.

Yea I agree. Maybe they have had more time to gel together. Lots of potential there. beer

I'd like to here their second, although I own their first, it's easily the most preditable album I've heard, it just sums up the radio music today. IMO, they took the easy way out, and instead of doing something strange and really mixing their sounds, they came up with what RATM and Cornell would sound like together. I know that sounds contradictive, but for all the hubaloo these guys get for musical brilliance, you'd think then could come up with at least one remotely new idea.

I loved the first album, even though it kinda loses my interest in the 2nd half of the record, but I'm confident they can make a better second album. beer

Chris Cornell is one of favourite vocalists too. ok

Exactly it couldn't be more radio friendly if they tried

The whole album lacked a bit of passion if anything - for a rock group they didn't really 'rock'

I really enjoyed the first album although you are right about it being very predictable. Without a doubt I think they've now had time to gel as a band and I think a second release is guna be maybe more experimental rock this time.

I really liked RATM and Soundgarden, so I was excited about Audioslave.

But I hope their next one rocks harder.  I like Morello's sound but Cornell sounds too mournful in some songs (i.e. I am the Highway) - he should yell and stomp around a bit more.  He had more vocal range in Soundgarden than he does in this band.

Very true - he was a bit to sombre - he needed to put a bit more enthusism into his tracks...

What didn't u like about the album?

I like the album simply because i can't find anything to dislike about it - its just good 'easy listening' without ever reaching the standards they should have reached

well, I HATE Cornells vocals on it! he did sooooo much better with Soundgarden and Temple Of Dog,  he sounds like he's suicidal or something on this album...and the music is just too damn obvious, I dunno, I just think it's a way too "smooth" album if you know what I mean, plus the vocal thing. I was extremely disappointed in Chris, he has a spectacular vocal range. and still he goes on and sing practically the whole album in the exact same monotonous voice, disappointing. his solo album is kinda the same deal. peace

I know exactly what u mean - and agree on each point, yet at the same time i like it as good 'background' music - an album u can just stick on when ur doing something else

It is amazingly average for sure.
