Izzy has sent along 5 photographs from some of his paintings (anyone here knew that Izzy painted??). Anyway, heres the update I posted at chopaway.com where you can see the other paintings

Izzy dropped by with a cool update for the fans today, check it out:

"I've been painting since January, acrylic to canvas, lots of different things... and I have five paintings I wanted to share with fans.......... I'm gonna send you rough photos....unclipped or cut..... i was thinking of starting a site of some kind to post up artwork from anybody who cares to send it in: fans, musicians, anyone! "Garage Art" maybe?! .....Cheers, Izzy"

A second email landed shortly after, not only containing photographs of Izzys personal artwork, but with praise for the fans who had already uploaded their own artwork.

"It's funny. I just opened the new site and what do i find?... Art from fans!!!!!!! Fucking great!! A wonderful coincidence....Thanks again, Cheers.... Izzy"

There are further updates from Izzy as you read down the thread... they get cooler and cooler as you go on

OH my my God, he's not just a genius, not only a good guitarist, an amazing n talented musician, he paints!!!!, n in a very original way . He's a completly artist.

Izzy really seems like he turned out to be the most normal one from GnR. Just does his thing, shows up and says 'hey whats up axl, mind if i sit in?' then he's off doing something else. He doesn't seem to get pulled into any of the drama.

I recorded the tokyo and osaka japan 2000 tour shows that are in circulation when I went to Japan 7 years ago - I mugged for the camera when Joe was videotaping the Osaka show - I then met up with Lori Lepper and Duff in 2002 in Seattle when I taped the Loaded show - I sat down with Duff for desert at a local diner the night before the show - Duff told me Izzy's brother videotaped the tour - I wish they would release the footage since the shows in japan were amazing - they even played paradise city with izzy on vocals at one of the shows I missed

this is all first hand knowledge since i saw the shows and talked to duff directly

anyway rock on and RIP Lori Lepper

you're totally right, he goes on his own with no problem, very like him: Izzy. , he gets along with the rest, he just fine with everything, he's a good, I realized, with a good heart, no hard feelings. I mean with Axl, for example, he didn't accpet his phone calls, no accept his visits... N there he's, playin' with him, n the "new" GN'R, even with VR, when they didn't take his opinion 'bout it, so he's a goos human being.

N yes he seems to be most normal guy,  , even he doesn't think so.

Yeh man, its true. Izzy is feeling generous  He has dug out loads of cool shit (videos, photos, tapes) and is in the process of transferring some of them to a computer format... just needs a few weeks to sort it out and he'll sort out some cool downloads 

Im not sure if his comment regarding "a personal site for artwork from fans" is going ahead or not, im sure it will be cool if it does. Maybe Izzy would release some of the items through that site too 

Izzy fans, you can look forward to a summer of rare izzy material i'd say  starting with the japan 2000 videos 

(Oh and I didnt put it on chopaway.com yet because Id like to keep his "Miami" news as near to the top of the page as possible. When the stuff is available Im sure you will all hear about dont worry )

One thing I heard mentioned somewhere (I think by you, downliner) was that you had a video for Train Tracks stashed away somewhere.  Is there any chance of this ever seeing the light of day?  Train tracks is one of my favourite izzy songs.

Well my version was crap quality and on VHS 

I got sent a better copy on DVD in a trade and it was a scratched disc and fucked up playing half way through 

I opened my email this morning though and funnily enough Izzy says "i have a dvd rough cut/edit of traintracks from ju ju hounds cd...". He is going to try and send it to me online, if not it will be via airmail and I'll put it online asap 

There is cooler stuff than that coming through too, I think Izzys just found a box filled with old stuff that us fans considered lost  Instead of hoarding he is releasing it all

This would probably be available to download from the site and thats it, less hassle that way

Izzy has asked that they be available to everyone which means they will be downloads from the web site. I could do a few free DVD copies for people just to ensure they get out into the trading community too though

Hey, any updates on this front?  After Miami, and a glut of other stuff from Izzy, and the above mentioned promises, it's all gone quiet!  The calm before the storm, no news is good news type stuff, or has he gone back underground?

Please don't make me think of Izzy as being anything like John Lennon.  Normally, I'm able to like a musician just for their music, and even if I'm not too pleased with their political views, I'll still listen to their music.  But John Lennon...ugh *shudder*.  If Izzy is anything like John Lennon, I'd probably lose all respect for him.

Well, there are some similarities between Lennon and Stradlin.

They're both rhythm guitarists; they both were, in their respective bands, songwritters and singers; they both had a solo career after leaving their respective monster-band; Lennon had a very conflictive relationship with McCartney, the other brilliant mind in The Beatles, and same for Izzy, who had a very weird love/hate relationship with the other creative genius in Guns N' Roses, W. Axl Rose... and they both have tried another artistic facet different from music.

^ According to the adminthe database is stored on a seperate server to the site and he can't seem to find it. There's a backup of the database but he wanted to see if he could find the error first. And he's busy with work at the moment so, it'll be up again asap
