The guitar is some of Slash's greatest playing since the Illusions, I've said this a few times.

BUT a few days later after listening to the song a lot, it doesn't really have any staying power.   not sure why.

Although its still puzziling why they would leave this song off and put gravedancer on the album.

If this song is about United 93 (the flight), why would he be saying "when the plane lands, will you call me on the telephone"? ?The people on that flight knew they were going to die, right? ?Is this song for sure about 9/11?

That's the only scenario that makes sense, I think.  Although, from just listening to the song it wasn't intuitively obvious.

Slash gave an interview for the Greek version of Rock Hard magazine and he said that later this year they'll release an EP.

My guess is that given the fan's reactions on this song, they'll probably release the EP for this song, plus a few fillers...

that's the one common ground I've seen.. Sometimesa  song is just beautiful and crosses boundries of what people typicaly like or dislike.. Just the way scott sings and the way slash's guitar whales with emotion.. It's not a NR solo but it's just the quality in small doses with feeling..

ok this is getting quite repetitive but damn.. everytime I listed to it I just think the guys weren?t quite smart not puting that on the album and release it as a single... it would be massive! They would sell much more copies of the album... but no, it ain?t there... that?s kinda frustrating... I just wanted to know why  Sad
btw... I bought the bonus version of Libertad with the DVD and there was no Messages in there... in which edition can u find it?  Huh
