I saw some American sitcom today, I don't know the title in english since it was translated.

Anyway, a guy said something that didn't make any sense (I was half asleep) and a girl replied:

"Really? That's like letting Axl Rose do anti-drug commercials."

 rofl

I'm a damaged fan, but the delivery was perfect.

Not trying to be ultra-sensitive on Axl's behalf, but it stinks that he gets dragged down like that with a drug referance when from everything I've ever heard Axl never really had a problem with drugs other than the problem he had with his band mates using too much of them. Not that Axl never did any drugs or should be on D.A.R.E. posters or something but still it's not like he had a problem as bad as a ton of other rock stars popular at or around the same years he was. Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, and Bradley Knowles: Dead.

If he didn't want to be "dragged down" with that he could have left GNR , hell he could have left LA. His band was regarded as the most dangerous guys in rock n roll. LA was not the place to be if you wanted to get away from drugs.... I agree that Axl never really had a big drug problem except during I think it was 89-91 he said he did way too much dope for his own good. There's a picture of him with a giant bud somewhere floating around.

This is not GNR on TV related....but i was looking online for a pair of Buffallo jeans and when you got to their website, the background is the GNR Lies tabloid album sleeve. really surprised me, i thought it might of been a ripp off but its not! surprised a big company like Buffalow is allowed to use that without permissoin, unless they did get permission?

It's always a double edged sword for me when people cover GNR (Elvis too for that matter). It's like I'm happy for the reference, but it's just never anywhere near as good as the original.

Well I read through the whole thread and this simpson moment hasn't been mentioned directly. I think it was in the episode where homer and bart become catholic and they are answering questions and homer gets a question right ahead of another kid and, I think he leans over and says "welcome to the Jungle Kevin"

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there's an episode of Frasier titled, "Guns N' Neurosis."

And David Hyde Pierce (Niles Crane) was a security guard at a Guns N' Roses show in NY in the 80's.  love

I was listening to Bubba the LoveSponge yesterday, and Scott Ferrel(another radio host, he does a sports show) called in to say the he had a baby girl that day.  He was in the operating room for the C-section and he said the doctor was rockin' out listening to Paradise City at one point during the procedure, he said it was awesome.

That's one of the most random GNR mentions ever!!

Just watched True Lies for the 1st time. And there was an Axl mention. Tom Arnold said to Arnold S.  something to the effect of: "Your not her parents, her parents are Maddonna and Axl Rose".

Thought it was pretty funny considering GN'R/YCBM is tied in w T2 and OH My God is in End of Days.

a couple episodes of married with children mentioned GNR/axl..both epsides were around 1989....one episode had david faustino telling christina applegate theres a GNR video on and Axl is shirtless.....another episode had christina applegate say she was calling all over the world to track down the rock group guns n roses.......i vaguely remember a beverly hills 90210 episode where david arquette played this drunk woman beater rock singer and jason priestley called him Axl to which arquette replied 'axl rose is a sellout'.......funny stuff

This is what happens when writers are on strike.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGex5VZB7T4

The female character starts talking about Mike Patton. Then she says she saw Faith No More open for Guns N' Roses once. I thought it was bizarre but funny. I'm sure since there's no real news going on right now this is worth posting for giggles.

Just in case anyone's interested in the back story on this clip - here's an interview with Patton:

Now, I have to ask you about this. I don't think I've seen you comment on it yet. There is this clip that is all over the internet from All My Children. Where they talk about you on that soap opera. I'm wondering what your reaction to that was?

Mike Patton: Uh...I'm speechless. That was completely out of left field. I have no idea who is writing for that show. But he is probably fired by now.

Yeah. I thought it was pretty funny. I was sitting there in the daytime when it came on TV in the other room. And I heard, "Mike Patton"? Uh, what? What is going on with this?

Mike Patton: (Laughs) Rewind! I really...I don't know what to say about that. There must be some freak working on that program. That is all I can tell you.

Totally off subject....I went to school and was casual friends with a guy on that show. It's still a trip to see him on the front of the magazines when I'm checking out my groceries.

Slash was the subject of a Jeopardy question the other day:
Something like "the NRA must love Slash first he's in a band called Guns N Roses now he's with another gun related band (what is Velvet Revolver)"

Did anyone see Walk Hard?

There's a point where John C. gets super obsessed with making a new album...spends 8 years recording one song, grows a beard, and kicks all of the band members out.

Thought the story sounded similar to someone else we know.
