Man this is a great cd start to finish
I've listened to start to finish 8 times and I am at that stage of playing groups of songs and prostitute has grown on me so much
its a great tune which in my opinion is about Axl himself his expectations bourne on him with cd, his inner struggle to get it out and his perseverance in this project for his own reasons

Nice closer to this album

One of the best tracks really, and I think that's the only one who hasn't changed so much from the leaks.

Maybe a longer guitar solo would be nicer, but overall is a great song, and one that will certainly be a hit live, as the drums are awesome!

Yeah I'd like a longer guitar solo. I'd like more guitar work in general on that song. But it's none-the-less amazing. Fourth favorite.

PROSTITUTE, in my opinion, is Chinese Democracy's undisputed masterpiece.  wow.  the only song on the album to provoke tears.  amazing.

what about TIL? Tongue

I love prostitute,
It would of been cool though if he played that piano part quicker (like at the start of NR live/06/07 )
but I love how pitman finishes the song.

I love at the end, the very beginning of Bucket's solo starts kind of low and then quickly climbs forward in the mix and just soars out of the speakers.  That's an amazing bit of production right there, it sounds fucking awesome

I like it as a closer and as a song in its own right. Grows into a great climax before a peaceful resolution. One of Axl's better delicate vocal deliveries in the verses too.

I swear man that piano outro never gets old. Brilliant.

My favourite on the album and... the more I listen, the wider the gap becomes.

The lyrics that basically explain the album and why it is at it is, the almost "Infinite Sadness"-esque pianos and strings, the twinges of "Outside" era Bowie in the lyric rhythm and the digitally disintegrating guitars and... just... goddamn what an amazing outro. Sublime outro. An ending you just don't want to end, tying back into the little quiet moment in "Catcher" and expanding it into an ambient fade. The never-say-die-y-ness, to coin an awkward phrase.

Great as some of the other songs are, if I had to choose one song from Chinese Democracy to stand up with "Rocket Queen" and "Estranged" and "Coma" and "November Rain"... I'd go with "Prostitute".

I'm more and more impressed with this song for every listen it gets.

Very moving. Amazing to hear Axl getting as personal as this.

The outro on this song is just incredible to me, for some reason. Really resonates hard with me. Plus it can't help but invoke that feeling of "Here you are. You Just listened to Chinese Democracy. This is it", among many other things.

Great song but can anyone else hear Rolf Harris's wobbleboard  hihi hihi hihi hihi

WTF are those bubble noises

I LOVE the song but also was wondering the exact same thing.  What is up with the "Pop Up Video" bubble sounds in "Prostitute?" I dont think I like them, or maybe I am just not used to them. This is one of my favorite songs...and the part where Axl sings "I got a message for you" sends chills down my spine....but now the bubbles just sort of take me out of the song. They come back again towards the end of the song. And seem to come from nowhere. If it was coming from a funky keyboard/synth sound that was prominent in the song I'd understand...but just sort of come out of nowhere.
Every time I hear it I think of "Pop Up Video" and Eddie Murphy's "Fart Game" skit - farting in the bathtub. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv57I7GLSL8

I dont see where the bubble sounds are originating from.  As I said, if they were coming from a synth effect or keyboard effect and it was continuously in the song, it would work for me - but the fact that is just appears during that line - then again towards the end of the song, seemingly from nowhere, it is more of a negative than a positive for me as it takes me out of a song that I am completely absorbed in and emotionally attached to at those times.

Can't get into this one... It kind of drifts along and doesn't hold my attention, and I find the drums to be overly busy and not complimentary to the song.

Would have rather 'Sorry' were used to end the album.

Usually, I skip over the ballads and piano tunes, but this one is so good, so personal. This is a song that makes Chinese Democracy totally worth it to me. It's beautiful, tragic, and damn, if I can't figure out why it's call Prostitute. But it is one of my new favorite songs. Seriously, one of my favorite of all time.

When he sings 'up and awaaaay', it tears me up.  The emotion in his voice just strikes a chord with me.

And I feel this is the song where he explains why he's been the way he was for all these years and what he doesn't want to become - prostituting himself to fortune and shame.

streamlined, have to pull through, and look for a new beginning.  It's the perfect ending.

Listen to the lyrics and you'll understand the reasoning behind the title.

Hell yeah. This song speaks to me in ways I couldn't imagine possible, it's fucking brilliant. One of the best GN'R songs ever and a perfect way to end the best album in history.

It sure seemed like forever and a day...great way to close the album,  this song is dominated by a huge nostalgic mood all over it.

I do hear something...almost like fingers sliding down guitar strings.
