I've always liked it when musicians talk politics- but then I love it when anyone says stuff that sticks their head above the parapet. I mean, I don't have to agree with their views (in this case I do!) but I like it when people let their true feelings out rather than keeping things bottled up. Expression is great- bring it on. If artists feel strongly about things, they should definitely say so in my view. I've had my eyes opened to all sorts of things by what my favourite musicians have said at various times- sometimes I've liked /agreed with their statements, other times not- either way, I've been made aware of possibly new stuff, and new points of view. Which is pretty much what I want from art really, in any of it's many forms.
