I see people posting here that used to have another attitude ten years ago... looks like some of you are absolutely unable to make some REASONABLE critics. Im still attending the shows, im still collecting bootlegs and merch, im buying my 23rd ticket next monday, im still a diehard fan, but I don't think pointing this as UNGRATEFUL to the people who spent their whole adult lives helping this band to survive makes me a whiner or something like that.

Half of GNR's music was made by someone who is not mentioned even ONCE, not for a thousandth of a second. And you have ''good reasons'' to justify it...

I may be overthinking here but this video doesn't give me the feeling of the tour being the end of this whole thing. Did anyone else catch that it deferred to SCOM as the first #1 single and not the only #1 single and that the timeline gave room for a continuation of things to come?

EDIT. Just saw the second video I believer something major is coming

Pretty clear something is happening on May 24th. I'd be surprised if it's a show for that day in LA. Four days wouldn't seem enough to get to everything pack and over to Ireland, taking into account time differences etc.

Something is getting announced though, that much is clear. I'm more and more thinking it might be the end.

Say what  Huh

GNR have the best crew in the business!!!  Four days is an eternity to them.
That and the fact that we learned on the last leg of the tour that there are two complete sets of everything so that as one show is on, the second crew is already setting up at the next show location.

Wednesday, May 24th is more than likely the "surprise" warm up show.

Hope it's a single, new album announcement, or at least a live album from the tour. More show dates would be kind of underwhelming.

Looking at their schedule though, three days seems to be the standard amount of time between venues. I can't see them warming up, then flying. A gig in LA on the 24th is the 25th in Ireland. Factor in flights after that and recovery from jetlag, and it seems a bit unlikely to me. A warm up gig in Europe would be likely I think, but all signs seem to point to LA.

I can't see it being anything other than a show announcement. The wild speculator part of me still thinks it could be a 'final' show of the tour.

So your theory is that four days before the scheduled start of this 40 show leg of the tour, they're going to call it quits?  Huh

My feeling is that Wednesday will see the announcement of one or some LA shows to come at the end of the tour. I honestly can't see what else it would be- it's receiving too much push for a low key warm-up show, and while there are a few gaps in their itinerary between now and October, there aren't many. It could simply be another run of shows in America around Christmas time. That yellow sign that's been up in LA for ages now is a weird one though.

What do you think?

Sorry man, but for who the hell would they put a story about former members? It does not make sense, the current tour is focused on Axl, Slash and Duff,

I dont know, but for some reason they have felt the need to bring things from the past in that video. Well, everything surrounding this tour NEEDS the past. The past is the key (just look at the setlist, the imagery, the sound, the merch, the intros...).

And you just CANT bring GNRs past without mentioning Izzy, to give the most grotesque example. You just cant. You can't speak about the Bulls of the nineties without mentioning Pippen.

If you feel the need to bring the past, do it right. GNR didn't born the way the video shows. GNR toured the whole world 2/3 times between 2002 and 2014. There was an album that was released in that ''huge 1996-2016'' one second long block.

I feel that GNR is spitting on the work and effort of not only ALL former members but also more than the half of the current ones. Dizzy (26 years long member, 2nd after Axl in GNR's history), Richard (15 years, 3rd in the ranking), Frank (11, 4th in the ranking) and Melissa are being 100% anonymized. They are being treated as if they were Traci fucking Amos. And we all know Richard can mercilessly kick Slash's ass in terms of guitar skills and performance. It's just not fair. Not for them, not for us the fans who stuck with this band all these ''hard'' years.
Not many tickets are sold by hyping Frank and Melissa.
I feel your pain.

Yeah, would sure be odd to tease a special announcement that turns out to just be more tour dates for an already announced tour.  Man oh man, shame on me for indulging in this thought, but how wicked would a new music announcement be?  Hmm...

Ugh, you're probably right but that would be so weak. And kinda defeats the purpose of a "surprise" show.  Unless it's something like the AFD5.  Still rooting for new music.

I think its the AFD 30th Anniversary show announcement.   They just released new Nightrain merch with 30 yr theme, it makes too much sense.  Hope to see you all in LA.

Agree.  They're going to move from NITL to AFD 30, and play shows in the US, doing AFD front to back.

There Was A Time

I can understand GNR being interested in how many tickets they sell. But you? a fan? Do you have any profit? You should be interested in the music and nothing else.

Yeah there was a time... a time when music and art and exploring new paths seemed to be priority for this band. Unfortunately, the people who supported that hard road were too little. Fortunately, ChiDem was finally released to let us know how much far can GNR go when they want to explore new roads and new destinies. An extraordinary album made by extraordinary musicians that were not afraid to take risks.

Now we are back to the safe zone and you feel no more pain. Im happy for you, believe it or not!
