PAGAN Working On 'Bitter' Video - Aug. 22, 2010

A video for the single "Bitter" by gothic horror-inspired metal act PAGAN featuring Richard Fortus of GUNS N' ROSES is now in production. The clip stars actress Jennifer Ren?e Price, who has worked with PAGAN founder Michael Bilinski on a number of film projects. The video's concept, developed by Price, is a dark, distinctly adult take on a classic fairy tale. The single features an exclusive mix of the track created for the video and will hit digital outlets worldwide October 5 via The Gebepool/Universal. The original mix of "Bitter" will be found on PAGAN's upcoming studio album, "A Season In Hell". Additionally, the CD will include a remix of the song by Christian Menses of PSYCHOTICIA. Menses, who has produced remixes for industrial supergroups PIGFACE and TEAM CYBERGEIST, also appears as a guest vocalist on another of the album's tracks. "A Season In Hell" will be released this winter.

Led by cult filmmaker Michael Bilinski, PAGAN has been mixing dark ambient soundscapes with industrial strength guitars since its debut EP was released Halloween day 2006.

In addition to playing rhythm guitar in GUNS N' ROSES, Fortus has contributed to the soundtrack to the film "Repo! The Genetic Opera". His version of the James Bond theme can also be heard in the "Quantum Of Solace" video game and the fourth installment of the popular "Guitar Hero" series.

I was curious what this band sounded like, so I found their MySpace page.  The music they have streaming on their site could definitely appear on a movie soundtrack.

They also mention Richard:

PAGAN We have completed mixing the new song "Bitter" featuring a guest appearance from Richard Fortus of GUNS N' ROSES.

That guitar definitely sounds like Richard.  ok

Come to think of it, it reminds me of the end riff Richard repeats just as the Madagascar Solo (Speech Montage), is finishing.

You can stream the album including "Bitter" for free here:
http://www.myspace.com/paganmusic/music/albums/a-season-in-hell-17533887

Richard's guest solo can also be heard on the remix "Bitter (Reconstructed)" by Christian Menses of Psychotica.

The video is a narrative and does not feature band performance footage.

Although it's quite short, that remix sounds amazing.  ok

I love the synth/orchestral sounds in the background building up and then retreating. While that lovely clean guitar pattern plays over and over, and also the drums sound heavy, which is a nice addition.  Wink

I'm going to listen to the original song now, to see how it compares with the remix.  Cool
