I guess if the new album will contains some of the old material that wasn't in CD (material from Buckethead, Robin, Brain...) with re record parts by DJ, Frank n' BBF or new material written by the actual members. Maybe a mix of both options...

I dont think the "old" material would be all rerecorded. If Paul Tobias and Bucket still made up on Chinese Democracy, why would this time be different?

I still hope though that Bumblefoot and Ashba can write in some tunes too. They should use all this energy gained from the tour to provide some good shit.

And Axl said in an interview that Robins parts on the next are already done, so hopefully we'll get to hear it.

Okay, here's how they can get past the record label.

Get Frank's new muscle car.  Axl drives, DJ riding shotgun,  Frank banging it out on the backseat.  Hit old Route 66 by the time they make St. Louis, they'll have that album done.

Try not to out drive Buckcherry by too much, I like that band.

My birthday is in February.  Happy Birthday to ME if this ends up happening!  Not that I don't trust DJ.  I just know how sometimes things don't go as planned.  Very exciting "plans" indeed though.  Oh, and a new album would be fantastic.  I wonder if they'd start debuting newer songs if/when it comes closer to being released.  A little preview perhaps.

like they did with Chinese Democracy

I would doubt any news songs that have not been released are leaked at shows.  My opinion only ofcourse.  The timeline DJ put out there doesn't make it sound that long to wait anyway.  The US hasn't seen this version of the tour that includes other songs of off Democracy that weren't played in 2006.  I think the US tour is consistent with the current tour that has been going on in 2010.  Once again, just me speculating.  Not written in stone or anything.

A February US tour would be gold. I'd love for them to kick it off in Las Vegas. I was planning on getting out there before the end of the year anyway, but if it's announced that Guns will be playing in February/March, I'd happily postpone my plans to tie this in. If they decide to do LA and Vegas several days apart from one another, I'll tie that in as well.

I guess I should budget GNR in to my 2011 expenses.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2010/11/09/dj-ashba-promises-new-guns-n%E2%80%99-roses-album-is-close-u-s-tour-even-closer/

What we will believe is Ashba?s claim that the band will tour the U.S. in February. They just came off of two-month European tour and the 37-year-old says that GN?R will ?head out on the 27th to Australia then we?re back here in the states doing a tour.? While being able to see the band without having to but a plane ticket is pretty exciting news for American fan, Ashba still seems most amped about recording new tunes.

?Axl has a lot of good shit up his sleeves, so I?m really excited about it,? Ashba explained, ?It won?t take as long ? I promise.?

Fingers crossed for a double album - that would mean the average time per album release would be quite respectable!

« Reply #76 on: November 10, 2010, 06:06:23 AM »

The only reason that the length of time it takes bothers me is because of the age of the band.

I'd like to think GN'R have a few more albums left in them, but the more time passes, the less realistic that becomes.

Well, the Stones are still going well into their 60's, so I'd say they potentially have plenty of time.
That being said, I really hope it doesn't take as long as the last one did.

what about a new single ?

can be done quickly, perfect for Christmas, good teaser for the next LP and sell improver for the US tour...

(I vote for "Jackie Chan")

We are probably 2 years away at least. They are still kicking around ideas and with all the touring Guns have been doing, they have a lot of studio time they need to put in. I really can't wait... I really can't.
