Steven Adler To Announce 'A Big Television Show - Major Record Deal'

On May 17th, drummer STEVEN ADLER (formerly of GUNS N? ROSES, currently in ADLER?S APPETITE) will hold a press conference and book signing at Hollywood Soundcheck (located at 8872 Sunset Blvd) next to The Viper Room. Also on May 17th, Steven Adler will reveal that he is joining forces with The Ultimate Warrior ? the former WWF champion and first to beat Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI in 1990. Furthermore, Adler will announce details of ?a big television show and major record deal? at Hollywood Soundcheck.

In a rather ironic twist of fate, last year Adler?s Appetite worked with producer and CINDERELLA drummer Fred Coury ? who in 1987 sat in for Steven at a handful of Guns N? Roses shows when he broke his hand. ?Yes I did. I hit (M?TLEY CR?E bassist) Nikki Sixx?s face a good 10 or 15 times. But Fred Coury only produced two demo songs, ?Stardog? and ?Fading?, which are on iTunes right now. I love Fred Coury. He?s a great drummer, a great person, a great producer and maybe I might do some more stuff with him later on. But right now we have somebody else in mind, a huge industry giant. I can?t mention anybody yet. But on May 17th at Hollywood Soundcheck, right next door to The Viper Room on Sunset Blvd., I?m going to be doing a book signing and that?s when I?m going to be able to talk about everything with the record, the band, who?s going to produce it and the record deal. It?ll be a big press conference; I?m very excited about that" says Adler.

And here's video of Chip Z'Nuff talking about how Adler's Appetite has signed a "massive" record deal, which includes a huge advance, and a gigantic record produced by someone like Rick Rubin.

Their latest single is titled ??Alive,? Adler says, as in ?it?s good to be alive,? while the complete album should drop by the end of the year.

Bad behaviour is pretty much what this band is known for (other than the music)... but I do see your point after reading the topic about his book.

An interview with Steven Adler and Chip.  He says they are going to re-record the three new songs in July, and the album should be out by the end of the year or first part of next.

Thanks, that was an awesome interview.  Adler and Chip are great, gotta love 'em.   That was cool when he explained some of his tattoos and talked about his drumming.   Cool that the chick was a drummer and a big fan too.

In a new interview on the O. Brown Show, Steven Alder says that when the band starts recording their new album next month, they will be changing the band name from "Adler's Appetite" to "The Chosen Few."

That's what he says.

Huh oh God, that is a horrible band name. nervous  I wonder if there is a legal thing with using the word "Appetite."   Anyway, I hope that at least some of the songs sound good.  The big appeal of it for me was hearing the AFD songs.  I'll still give it a chance though.

Glad Steven changed the name. Chosen Few makes them stand on their music.. That song "Alive" was actually pretty good.

So i applaud Steven for that.

Chosen Few isn't a great name but Adler's Appetite was fucking horrible.  There a local GNR cover bands around here with more creative names than that.  I agree with you D, having a new name shows they are creating NEW music, not just playing Appetite covers.

From an interview with Steven Adler:

Steven Adler's new appetite

AUGUST 24, 2011

Steven Adler wants to know, ?What is hip??

After a decade or more of study, he has his own answer.

?What is hip today is only hip today. I want to play music that will last and endure.?

Hip, then, is something timeless. Past, present, future.

Adler has a past. He was the drummer for Guns N? Roses before a crippling heroin habit got him thrown out of the equally dissolute band.

He has persevered to the present with Adler?s Appetite, which has been a swinging door of musicians from Ratt, Quiet Riot, Warrant, Faster Pussycat, Enuff Z?Nuff and others coming and going.

And he foresees a future that he is loathe to talk about. It will be a new band with a new name with a producer he also won?t name.

?I don?t want to say anything because I might jinx it,? Adler exclaims. ?I?m knocking on wood.

?What the world needs right now is a good hard rock ?n? roll band and I?m a rock ?n? roller,? he continues. ?I can?t do what?s not in my heart and soul.?

So, whatever Adler?s Appetite becomes it will be the total of things he learned the hard way and wrote about in his book, My Appetite for Destruction: Sex and Drugs and Guns N? Roses. When Guns N? Roses broke up and moved on to various solo and other projects, Adler wasn?t with them. Initially, he was more addled than ever plus it wasn?t in his nature to compete. He recalls reading about Cream, in which Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker constantly were fighting, culminating in the fiery Baker pulling a knife on Bruce.

?They couldn?t even be in the same room together,? stresses Adler, who claims the break up of GN?R wasn?t nearly so fraught with bickering. ?I couldn?t imagine!

?I?m not a fighter. That?s why people who were in the band aren?t in the band any more; I couldn?t live with them.

?Life goes on. The guys I?ve got right now make me feel good, make me feel strong, make me feel comfortable.?

Adler?s Appetite refers to GN?R?s first and most significant album, Appetite for Destruction. Take songs from that, throw in a cover by such as Thin Lizzy and the baldly autobiographical ?Alive? and there is the kind of hard rock that has kept Adler together and steered him through what he acknowledges were hard times post Guns N? Roses.

?I brought it all on myself,? he admits. ?I?m still angry.

?I have everything to prove. I was in the major leagues and I threw myself out of the major leagues. I went past the minors. I know I have to pay my dues again if I want to get back on top.

?You would think it would be easy to kill yourself but the body can take a lot of s?t. I guess I wasn?t ready yet.?

As he cleaned up, his book detailing those wasted years made him confront himself. It required a decade of introspection and had a sudden conclusion.

?Once I took full responsibility, it was easy,? Adler says. ?I don?t blame anybody. I lit a huge fire in my fireplace and threw the book into it. That was the past.?

I do actually think it's a good move to change the name of the band, because at the moment people view it as a cheap GN'R tribute thing. If he is out to start something new, then I think this is a perfect move......now all he has to do is stop covering more than 3 GN'R songs at a show.  hihi

To Quote the Late Great George Harrison , All things must pass. So I move on with my life, as I'm no longer with Steven Adler's "Adler's Appetite". Keep your ears open for new music coming soon! Peace and Love, Chip!
Did this band break up or is it just lineup changes???
