me and my mom will be there, shes a huge fan and got me into them as a kid, it would be her first time seeing Gn'R live! i will be getting my tickets at the end of the month!

i still dont know if the CTA (chicago transit authority) runs a bus to and from the venue, if they do it would be a PACE bus since allstate is considered to be in the suburbs, which is $1.75 each way. for those flying up, i would fly into O'Hare (ORD) as it would be way way closer to the venue than Midway would be, though both are near public transportation (subway trains...yellow line for midway, and blue line for O'Hare (blue line runs all night!)

just figured i would post that last bit of info for those flying in wondering about public transportation in chicago.

If anyone's looking for hotel accommodations for the show, there are a couple of hotels within what looks like walking distance of the venue.  One is some sort of Radisson, and I can't remember the other one off the top of my head.  It sounds like parking's a bear at this place, so walking could be useful, assuming you don't get run over.   

Also, it looks like there are some strip malls and restaurants nearby as well, so plenty of places to grab a bite or kill some time before the show.

You may wanna consider flying into O'Hare, as the venue is right next to O'Hare. The flight may be a bit more expensive, but you'd make up for it in travel costs I'm sure?

Yep, axlrosegnr's got it right.  And there are hotels so close to the venue that you could easily walk and avoid parking issues (which I hear are pretty bad at this place).

Anybody get their tickets in the mail yet? I ordered mine the day they went on sale, then I ordered my Minneapolis ticket a week later....well I got the Minneapolis ticket in the mail, still waiting on Chicago.

Looking at flying into OHare - is that Holiday inn that seems to be about a half mile from Allstate and two miles from Ohare a decent Holiday Inn? I've stayed at Holiday inns that totally suck, so I wanna know. Booking my trip on Friday.

We're traveling over to the Chicago area fairly early that day to hang out with a buddy all day. He's coming to the show so we'll head to the pre-show meet up whenever everyone else will be there!

The opening act will be on around 9, not GN'R, so we'll have plenty of time.

Well, the tickets say "9 PM" on them so I'm sure it's easy to assume that GN'R would be out around then. We'll see as the NA tour starts soon, but my guess ahead of time would be that the opener will be on around 9 or 9:15, play for 30-40 mins, about an hour between acts, then GN'R around 11ish. Again, that's a complete and TOTAL guess on my part but we'll probably get a better idea when the first US dates happen soon.

Everything is pretty close around there, everything is within blocks.   The extended stay is on the North side of the Allstate Arena, and Shoeless Joes is the South Side of the allstate arena

are they having trouble filling the arena? I have not bought my tickets yet, but I got an email from ticketmaster, calling the sweet deal o' mine. 4 tickets, with 4 dogs and sodas, and no service charges for $135

I never been to Chicago but I thinking about going to this show. Does anyone know if after the show it's easy to get a taxi to O'Hare? I noticed the arena is only a few miles from the airport. 

You'll probably hae to take a short walk up to the target or one of the local Biz, I am not sure if I have ever seen a cab pull in Allstate parking lot. But if you get a local cab co number(google or yelp search), im sure it will be a breeze...probably a $10-$20 ride with tip
