It's not the weather.  It's not bad around here.  I would say that it's ticket sales.  Anyone in upstate NY that wanted to see them went to the Wilkes-Barre show because there wasn't one scheduled in upstate NY.  The Albany show just appeared a few weeks ago.  I heard many people from upstate NY mentioned that they would have gone there since it was closer, but they already bought the Wilkes-Barre tickets.  Between it being announced late and it being the day before Thanksgiving, I'm not surprised.  So happy I picked Wilkes-Barre!!  I live 1/2 between there and Albany!!

I'm in shock! Just got to Albany and found out. Traveled up from NYC by Amtrak train. This happened to me in Vancouver in 2002 also. I already booked my hotel & am can't get a refund so I'm stuck here til
Thursday Sad
What a way to end a very shitty year.
I hope the band's health is ok.
If the arena canceled it I really want to know why.
I am really sad. Traveled up here alone too so this is going to be some lonely days in Albany.

I rely hope it wasn't canceled due to poor ticket sales but the show not being on the back of those tour shirts have me some concern but I laughed it off as a mistake. I really hope this wasn't planned by the band ; to cancel the show if certain amount of tickets were not sold. I spent a ton of money in Vancouver for a show that didn't happen, & now same in Albany. I know band didn't tell me to travel but I just feel like complete shit right now.
If anyone were to cancel due to ticket sales, it would be the promoter, not the band. At this point though, without knowing what the ticket sales were, it's ridiculous to speculate.

I don't think it's ticket sales. Wilkes-Barre was half full/empty. Sucks though, travelled all the way from the Netherlands.. I'm still in NYC now

really sorry to hear that. i can somewhat relate to how you are feeling. i was at the philly show in 2002. it's just an awful feeling when you are looking forward to a big night and it gets cancelled.

i'm guessing it's poor ticket sales. and if so, i'm positive its the promoters call. this happens to alot of bands. hopefully this does not lead to any issues cause things have been going really well.

yeah, I thought the same thing when seeing the pics of the shirts and assumed it was a mistake or that maybe they were all made before the show was announced, now it all just seems odd...

also, sorry you made the trip and got fucked over...I am in a similar situation where I now have a hotel room in albany and get get a refund and am wondering if it would be worth making the nearly five hour drive down or not...anyone know of anything else worth doing in albany tomorrow...?

It's not the weather.  It's not bad around here.  I would say that it's ticket sales.  Anyone in upstate NY that wanted to see them went to the Wilkes-Barre show because there wasn't one scheduled in upstate NY.  The Albany show just appeared a few weeks ago.  I heard many people from upstate NY mentioned that they would have gone there since it was closer, but they already bought the Wilkes-Barre tickets.  Between it being announced late and it being the day before Thanksgiving, I'm not surprised.  So happy I picked Wilkes-Barre!!  I live 1/2 between there and Albany!!

you seemed to forget that there is actually still a LOT of upstate NY located above albany...of course we get confused for being part of canada all the time...

Yeah, unless tickets were horrendously selling, which may be the case given it was the day before Thanksgiving, it seems unlikely.  But, without knowing the specifics, it's fruitless to speculate.

could be a possibility, but I still haven't decided if it will be worth driving down or not or just saying fuck it and just take the loss for the hotel but save the cost of gas...
either way, hope you are able to find something to do during your stay

Just took a taxi ride from Albany train station to hotel; first thing he said to me was "hope you're not here for the concert..." apparently the cab drivers are just as upset as us fans; they will be losing a lot of money now with no show happening.
