I haven't been on this site in years, but I got tix to the Roseland show, figured i'd sign back on and see whats been going on around here. I got my ticket in the mail, it says right on the ticket 9pm doors, dont know why ticketmaster had 11:00pm originally. Also this was just posted on Roseland Ballrooms facebook page:

Roseland Ballroom
Manitoba has been added as support to the Guns N' Roses show on Friday night! Get tickets here http://bit.ly/xyWauo

I did some research (wikipedia) and found that Manitoba is an electronica artist named Daniel Victor Snaith who is a composer, musician and recording artist and goes under stage names Caribou, Manitoba and Daphni. "Manitoba" hasn't released anything since 2003, but "Caribou has released stuff recently, so it's weird that "Manitoba" would be opening for GNR. Any thoughts on this?

Manitoba may also refer to Dick Manitoba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Manitoba) - saw him perform in September at the Slash Benefit show in NYC.

Guess we will see Friday.

Cotis you are correct, this article http://eastvillage.thelocal.nytimes.com/2012/02/07/the-day-manitoba-opening-for-gnr/ confirms that Handsome Dick Manitoba is opening for GNR on friday night at Roseland.

"Handsome Dick Manitoba has an announcement about his eponymous band: 'The band has officially been confirmed as direct support for Guns N? Roses? SOLD OUT show this Friday, February 10th at Roseland Ballroom! We?ll see you in the pit.'"

Handsome Dick Manitoba still owes me a drink from the MC5 gig we did in Greece... I should travel all the way to NYC and collect it at some point...

Can't believe I still have that card...

At the studio, listening to @DieAntwoord while brushing up guitar parts for the upcoming @gunsnroses shows.... http://youtu.be/wc3f4xU_FfQ

Hmm, brushing up guitar parts? The last GNR show was only less than 2 months ago...Unless he's playing some material GNR haven't played in a long time....or new material!

I'm hoping to hear a couple of different songs than the show I saw in Hartford (though it was great!).  Maybe with the smaller venues, they will mix it up a bit.  I'd love to hear the acoustic version of You're Crazy.  72 hours now!!

Suck on That

« Reply #472 on: February 10, 2012, 12:47:45 AM »

That band opening for Terminal looks like another scream yelling band that sucks like at the izod show. If anyone went to the izod show in middle of GA me and my friends were abusing that band yelling at them to get off stage. I was also the one offering everyone gum, and when Ron heard me he asked if it would fuck him up. Anyway if the band sucks at Terminal 5 they will be in for a long set.

I'll agree about AA, but they are very popular right now.  Last summer Baz and AA hinted about doing a song with Axl, i kind of hope not unless it is a cover of a song that I like or any song really, anything would work right about now.  Chelsea Smiles are good, maybe Axl will come out and sing "Dead Jail or Rock N Roll".  At small shows anything can happen!
