That picture really builds up the anticipation.

My buddy from Chicago told me that the balcony doesn't have seats.  Don't know if that's always the case or just for the show he went too there.  He'd only been there once.

I've only been there once as well.  I saw Anthrax and DIO there 6 or 7 years ago.  I dont remember there being any seats in the balcony.  To be quite honest though, I was a little smashed.  A 12 pack of Bud Ice before the show will do that.

I've come up with another question.  How the fuck are they going to fit: 3 Guitarists, 1 Bassist, 2 Keyboardists, 1 Drummer, 1 Maniac Pinball Bouncing Frontman - and a Grand Piano, on that stage?Huh

jeez that looks amazing...!

i was at Hammersmith in 06 but the house of blues looks even smaller!

i really hope theres some UK dates this year!!

I was at the Hammerstein in 06, and HOB is not even a quarter of the size of that place, Hammerstein is Huge compared to the HOB, look at that pic, all you are missing is the balcony which aint shit really, you will NEVER EVER forget this show, you wanna talk about up close and personal this is it, dont expect any pyro or anything the place would probably go up in flames, we may even get some acoustic songs here, this place is fuckin awesome let me tell you, like i said i would of paid $500 for a ticket.

Here here.

I did some checking and from the capacities reported online (read: I went to Wikipedia, lol) HoB Chicago is just about exactly 1/4 the size of Hammerstein. I thought that first Hammerstein show was the smallest GN'R show I'd ever see and I thank GN'R for showing me I thought wrong!

An Acoustic/Electric set could be interesting to say the least.  Here's what I'd like to see though, assuming they continue to play 24 songs each night.

Chinese Democracy
Welcome to the Jungle
Nightrain
Sorry
Estranged
Breakdown
Live & Let Die
Don't Damn Me
Street of Dreams
Whole Lotta Rosie
Rocket Queen
It's So Easy
Better
You Could Be Mine
There Was a Time
Civil War
Don't Cry
Madagascar
Sweet Child O' Mine
November Rain
This I Love
Knockin' on Heaven's Door (If they'd play it like the Illusion version)
One in a Million
Paradise City

I dont care for the slow version of KOHD that they play.  If they're going to keep playing it like that, I'd rather hear Back off Bitch or Bad Apples.

I would love to hear Yesterdays! But I think it's kinda in the "Coma,TWAT category" hard on Axl's voice! (but I thought that about Civil War too Wink
I'm still saying Pretty Tide Up would sound killer with Richard playing it !!

Wow!  I thought I was alone in wanting Pretty Tied Up back in the set.  That's why I've stayed mute about it.

Anyway, who cares what they play.  The new band rocks and I will have a good time and I won't let a song or two that I don't hear ruin my experience.

Well, I wonder if iclips is going to get to a chance to live stream anymore shows this time around?
Being that Chicago is sold out it would be nice to access the show via iclips or some other media outlet...

The more I think on it, the more I'm thinking about getting a hotel room, but I'd need it to be as close as possible to the venue.

Anyone from the area know what hotels might be a couple blocks away?

The amount of hotels around there are ridiculous, and the prices are even more ridiculous.
Go to googlemaps, enter HOB Chicago,  and search nearby hotels, there are tons in walking distance.
