I need to move up north.

or Florida.....two shows down there as well....

This club tour was really a great idea---such a great experience for the fans instead of seeing them in a stadium, music festival or other large center.   Granted we lose the pyro but I will trade fire to be in a tiny club with my most favorite band any day of the week.

Yeah, I was just making a point that it is a perfectly fine sacrifice to see the band so close.  Don't worry, though---you still get confetti blown at you every night.  Totally not on topic but after every show I always comment on how much it has to suck to be the person to clean those tiny papers stuck in rotten old beer everywhere. I'm thinking that if they're still announcing shows for the UCP tour, you might still have a chance to catch them on the west coast... Guess we'll have to wait and see...

EF is cool, never had any problems there, other than the occasional gypsy parking lot attendants outside.  Once a friend paid the money and the man wearing orange vest told him to pull through this little alley and the parking lot was "on the other side"..HA!  No parking lot there.  I REALLY hope that I can go but it's coming up so damn soon!!  This would have been my number 1 choice all along, but Silver Spring came up and I've been cool with that for the past month.  Lucky to anyone who can see more than one show this time around!!

I have not been to EF for a few years, between maybe '98-'02 I saw a bunch of shows there.

Back in '88 there is a good "OTGM" rant from Axl after he had a problem in the parking lot with the Philly police before the show.  In '02 the riot at the FU Center, after that I was still dying to see Axl and the band.  Below is a photo I took during the '02 riot and the rest are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mngs717/sets/72157627615882351/with/6349875830/

Damn it, wish I knew about this sooner. I would've preferred this over roseland since I live in Philly?
Would've been less of a financial drain.

Oh well, I still have AC coming up.

Wonder if there will be an 02 mention in the show. He should play oh my god since we never got to hear it. Haha.

just got my tix!! i cannot believe they are playing this venue. its probably my favorite venue. i love the set-up and the location. great sound too. but more than anything i have been to tons of shows there over the years - more than any other venue and i've just had so many good times there. and i wasn't sure if they would ever play philly again and now 3 months after they played across the river they are playing a small venue right in the heart of the city.

i'm so psyched!!!  beer

Just got my tickets! Wasn't expecting this show. A guy at work last night said "heard GnR is playing Philly next week". I check this site pretty much every day and i was like "huh?" so i got on and, lo and behold, they are fucking playing Philly! Short notice. Didn't think I'd be seeing the band again until who knows when. I guess this is the first time GnR has played Philly -- actually in Philly -- since maybe '93? Not counting the no-show in '02 (i was there). It's funny someone mentioned the "gypsy parking attendants" at the Electric Factory. I had a similar experience there--dude in an official-looking parking attendant vest took my money and sent me down an alley to another guy in a vest about a block away, who directed me to another guy, and then another guy -- ended up parking in a shady area about 5 or 6 blocks away. I was fucking bitter. And as soon as i parked, a guy in full camo shows up at the driver's side window, flashed a cheesy-looking dollar store badge and introduced himself as a "merchant security officer". He wanted 5 bucks to keep an eye on the vehicle during the show. I was still pissed i got burned for 20 bucks to park in basically an abandoned lot so i didn't give him his "fee". He said he couldn't guarantee nobody would vandalize the car. Great. "Whatever, dude". Halfway through the show, i start thinking maybe it would've been worth the five bucks. I started having visions of flat tires, broken windows... Rushed back to the car right after the show to find everything intact. Phew! Anyway, gotta love the entrepreneur spirit. I wonder if the gypsy attendants and merchant security officers are in the same union as the bootleg t-shirt guys and the dude selling ice cold soft pretzels out of his shopping cart (is that just a Philly thing??) Anyway, can't wait for this show. What a great fucking surprise!!! Thanks, Axl!
