New song at soundcheck? This has been posted on some other boards.

http://sndup.net/dnt6

http://sndup.net/h9cx

First I thought it reminded me of one of the new songs....but then somebody said it problably is TWAT...and I agree with him.
Hard to hear but I think it's "just" TWAT.
(Hopefully I am wrong and they will play it on Friday and say it's a new song with more to come)

It's not twat. You can "clearly" hear the guitar which has nothin to do with the song. The timing of the drums is very different

Agreed. Def. doesn't sound like TWAT. Someone suggested The General, as it has a similar chord progression in the small clip that leaked/evader mix. I don't have that handy to compare to, but maybe someone who does can chime in.

However, conspiracy theory time:

The General (and Seven) was written by Brain and a DJ who goes by the name of Xtract according to this article transcribing an interview with Brain: http://www.alternativenation.net/guns-n-roses-new-song-the-general-details-leak/

According to fans in South America, Brain is with the band at the moment (potentially just hanging out/working with Melissa), as is an unnamed DJ friend of theirs.

After being left untouched for years, Evader's The General remix was recently taken down due to copyright notice.

Make of that what you will.

Also, going back to the algorithm theory for a moment:

Other boards have reported Cuban Skies coming up. Someone even said Real Doll did. I haven't been able to find either. Soul Monster, Atlas Shrugged, and State of Grace do return Guns N' Roses (I don't have Spotify, so I'm never logged in, though what offsite tracking they do, who knows).

That said - if this was algorithm based on users searching, why wouldn't Crash Diet or Ain't Going Down return GNR? There's no way more people have searched for State of Grace over the years than those two tracks, one of which was in the damn pinball game, and would see a spike in searches with the UYI box set being released...

Honest question: I tried the search with my own Spotify account and my wife's. GN'R came up with her account, but not with mine. Why would that be?

Sounds a lot like the final minute or so of Oklahoma to me

maybe the plan was to release some singles as Slash said,
then they delayed it to took the time to release the Use
Your Illusion reissue properly, and now it's coming

Slash is not really a songwriter

 rofl rofl rofl rofl

Yeah, he only wrote a platinum album with a chart topping single that even crossed over to the mainstream Billboard chart (Slither).

oh, I see, you're confusing him with Scott Weiland (Slash is the guy with the top hat...)  hihi

do you know what songwriting is, by any chance?
writing a riff is *not* writing a song.
same with a solo.

the only thing I could came up with is Coma, because it's mainly a Slash thing, and it's great,
but it's nowhere close to a typical structured song and it's one in 40 years of carrier.

so yeah, no, Slash is not a songwriter by any means.

They did a soundcheck that Meegan live streamed on IG.  Sounds like the end of Berlin... I look up Berlin on Spotify nothing..... That's not the case when I look up, Soul Monster... Maybe they took parts of Berlin and added it to Soul Monster or it's exactly Soul Monster.  We're close to Halloween.. and it's a Friday!

Titles can change, like Silkworms - Absurd, The Blues - Street of Dreams.

LOL, I write my own songs, don't try to tell me about songwriting. Lyrics are not songs. Lyrics and vocal melodies are all Weiland contributed. The riffs are literally the music. And they're harder to write than simple chord changes, not easier. You really have no idea what you're talking about in the slightest. So confidently incorrect....  Roll Eyes

I write my own songs too, You could argue the vocal melodies and the lyrics are the song. Without them its just naked bones, cool naked bones, but naked bones nonetheless.

You can't write vocal melodies without chord changes to write them over. Never mind the fact that we all know the writing of Contraband happened mostly before Scott was even hired. Slash had Slither and Fall to Pieces in his pocket already.
