Statement from Adler himself......

http://adlerrocks.blogspot.com/2013/05/steven-adler-personal-statement.html?spref=tw&m=1

HOLLYWOOD, CA (May 6, 2013) ? The former GnR drummer wants to address the recent personal information that has been publicly addressed and let you understand his choice, in his words.

?I picked up a bottle and drank. This occurred a few times and that is a few times too many. I knew that this had to permanently stop. That is the moment I picked up the phone, before it got out of hand, to get help. I had kicked hard drugs several years ago and now it is time to get rid of the urges of drinking alcohol. I am at a great facility and will stay here until I am comfortable to be home to work the program on my own. I love you all for understanding, being patient and supporting my decision. Like my peers, I will beat this too, so I can return to music and beat my drums!?

Good that he recognises he has a problem & got help. I can only wish him the best and lets hope that these times of picking up a drink will become less and less until it stops altogether. Starting at such a young age was a shame, I cannot imagine what you would (or wouldn't) feel mixing drugs & alcohol. After reading the 3 autobiographies about how it caused them to throw up so much is a good enough incentive for not taking drugs & alcohol surely.  no

If this statement is correct then he is doing something about it before it gets out of hand, a good sign.  ok

At the very least, it's not hard drugs, and he also realized right away that he needed help and made the effort.  That's good, because initially I worried that he'd returned to the hard shit, and I don't think Steven's body can take much more of that.   no

So does this end his summer touring?  Has he already started touring?
