is there a concrete reason for so many shows in Brazil?

You mean why would GN'R schedule seven shows in the world's sixth or seventh largest economy? The biggest country in Latin America...
It's a bigger place than the UK, which regularly gets big tours doing multiple cities....

According to Brazilian site O Globo, the venues and ticket information for the shows will be announced later this week.

Mexico had four shows in 2011, Argentina had three. Brazil had one.
So you mix it up. This time Brazil gets more.

According to Brazilian journalist,  Jos? Norberto Flesch, the venue in Porto Alegre is Pepsi On Stage.

On the topic of the number of concerts in Brazil, you also have to ask the promoters. They can answer it better than GNR, I think...

And as jarmo said: Brazil is a huge country and, even though we are having 7 gigs, the band will not play in the northeast or north. I think it sucks and I feel bad for the fans in those regions who can't come to the south to see GNR. Undecided

More like a Brazilian tour with a couple bones thrown to other SA countries.  Gee, I can't imagine why.

Hahahaha.  Someone had to say it.

The shows are literally better than nothing.  So long as 10 dates spread over one month does not wind up being the total ouput for all of calendar 2014, I don't see the harm.

Let me guess!
Because since October 2011, that continent hasn't seen any GN'R shows?

im just curious.. is it just that they know they know call sell those dates? is the demand for Axl there so much greater than other south american countries?

Yes, Brazil is huge. When they do US tours, for example, and hit Florida, they typically play, the Tampa, Miami and Orlando areas - at least two of those anyway.

No...no, I don't think that's it.

The name of GNR's management team kind of answers that question for us.  I know I'll get slapped on the wrist for saying this, but I really wish they'd focus their energy towards the next album release instead of booking what are more or less extended vacations.

Fun fact:
gnr have never played a show on a year that ends with the number 4 (1994,2004,2014)

four is the only number to be like this. for exemple (1985,1995,2005) gnr played shows in 85

It sounds like they're going to try to cover as much of South America as possible, then...... South Africa with a safari side trip?
