Sounds like a rough day in court for Team Brady, but you never know how judges are going to rule. Tom reportedly had plenty of bad days the first time around and many people thought he'd lose that one. We'll see. Something tells me this is still far from over.

Well..this phase is basically over, except for the ruling. Wink

Yep, but just like the first time, both sides were slapped around a bit. While it would appear the NFL has the upper hand, a lot of people thought that same thing the first time. And I heard the ruling could take some time.

But prolly before next season, I would guess.

I guess because we all knew it was coming.

For my money... the best player in the NFL the past 15 years. Brady sure is right there with him... real close.

So long Peyton.

Not sure why this story isn't getting more coverage. Of course, I'm extremely biased. But as far as I know, it's not very ethical to lie in front of a judge or 3. Or is the NFL using the Costanza theory that it isn't a lie if you believe it?

I think everybody is Deflategated'd out... the world made up their mind about his guilt a long time ago.

Plus we are smack in the middle of free agency and Manning's retirement.

If and when his suspension is upheld...it will be front cover stuff again.

I love it... while Peyton waffled on whether or not to retire, the Broncos lost Brock to Houston... amazing.

I don't blame them for not matching what the texans gave... that's crazy money.

Looks like Denver will go after RG 3 or kapernick.

I think Brock Osweiler wanted to make sure he got his money now. Perhaps he felt dissed when the Broncos went back to Peyton or in other ways. Don't know much about him except from what I saw of him in 2015 but I do hope he's successful in Houston.

I think it's time to start a '2016' thread since it's no longer the 2015 season.

Oh I get that. But when the hearing took place last week everyone harped on what a tough day Kessler had, the destruction of the cell phone, Brady's explanations not adding up. All of that was discussed quite a bit. But the fact that Clement openly lied about what Brady said when his deposition proves otherwise, that's not a big deal? So a lawyer can lie in court to make someone look bad and help their own case when it can clearly be proven what they said was completely untrue? How is that okay?

Possibly, but let's be honest, they won last year with well below average production from the QB position. Now they certainly won against the grain there. It's not exactly how you'd draw it up. And I'm not sure they can do it again like that. It'd be a tall order. And as much as I'm not sold on Osweiler after 7 games, at least he was in the system for the past four years. Now they're basically starting from scratch at the most important position on the field. Then again, I can see their hesitancy to pay him that kind of money. Good luck to the Texans with that. Maybe they figure they can find a placeholder like Ryan Fitzpatrick and lean on their defense. Of course, they lost two key guys from their D yesterday, so that needs to be addressed. It wasn't a good day for Denver yesterday, but I wouldn't write them off just yet. And that goes for any team. It's day 2 of free agency, plenty of time to fill some voids.

Have to like the moves as a Giants fan. In the moment, they improved thir talent level on D, which was severely lacking. They paid a lot of money though, which you have to do in day 1 of free agency. Will that prevent them from making moves down the road? What if those guys don't live up to their contracts? Obviously a lot of risk involved. And we've learned many times over, the teams that win free agency don't often win the following year. Chemistry is more important in football than in other sports. Will the talent mesh? Now, that's not to say that you can't strike gold in free agency. Denver made some big moves that helped them win this year. Time will tell.

Vernon's deal is basically a two year deal... for insane cash... but if he is a bust.. they can walk away after year 2 at least.

Their D line looks great on paper... with Eli playing pitch n catch with OBJ... should make a good run at the NFC east next year. Bringing in these guys allow them to go best player on the board at number 10 in the draft too. Don't HAVE to draft pass rusher anymore.

I think Kaepernick could very well be an upgrade at quarterback for them from last season...

He was productive before the Niners destroyed their entire franchise by letting an elite coach leave. Then the players started walking away one by one.
