What are your opinions on the unreleased (old) GN'R song, Ain't Goin Down'? From what I understand, even the Gilby lineup was still working on the song; they were still interested at least as of '93/94 of releasing it at some point.

I like it.  The UYI outtake sounds pretty solid.

Here's some info he wrote-

What are your opinions on "Ain't Goin Down"? It was a song first written in the AFD era, then demoed during the UYI era but passed over, and it was still being worked on and retooled by the band as late as 1994 with consideration for release (according to Gilby; it was the last song he worked on as a member of GN'R). They even rerecorded it and released it for the 1994 GN'R Pinball pinball machine. You can tell it's a re-record because Axl's vocals are def not '85-'91 era:

Is it unreleased since it was featured in that game?  hihi

I remember hearing about it for the first time in RIP magazine.
Then I had a bootleg cd with an instrumental version of it.

I think it was in 1994, I saw a news piece on MTV about the pinball machine and it was featured in the clip.

Also got to play the actual pinball machine by accident at a truck stop! Best way to spend a lunch break at that truck stop.....

I thought it sounded promising, but it sounded like it could have used a bit more tightening up.

The final original track to be released by Slash/Duff era Guns N' Roses, Ain't Goin' Down was re-recorded in late 1993 or early 1994 by Axl, Slash, Gilby, Duff and Matt and converted to 8-bit form for inclusion in the GN'R Pinball machine, which launched in the summer of 1994. Gilby Clarke has said that that song was the last he worked on in Guns and suggested a proper recording of the song was done during this time, he said they kept working on it and never 'got it right'- It was supposed to be included on the next GN'R album apparently. You can hear from Axl's vocals that the revised version was recorded no earlier than late 1993 as his vocals sound very similar to the way they do on Pawnshop Guitars.

Hahaha I like that part as well. Sounds like something out of a old Nintendo game.

I don't mind the demo version I have heard.   Would of just been find on a album.  But I understand why it never made the cut.

It's a shame the original band didn't have more demos or unreleased songs in the vault.

When i was about 14, there was this teenage hangout store in the town i live in, they sold snowboard stuff i think. And they had a playstation where anyone could just play and a GN'R pinball machine that you could play for free, so for like two months it was my regular place to go after school and i played the fuck out of that pinball machine. Unsurprisingly someone broke the thing quite fast.  Sad
