Can someone tell me what a "sub drum" is?  Undecided

It's like sub bass.  Goes well with sub guitar.

Guess it's just some really low frequence drums that reinforce the regular drum's kick.

For the avoidance of doubt - my answer was entirely flippant.  I have no idea what sub drums are.

This is just a guess, but there are sounds that can't be produced by traditional instruments like bass guitars and drums. Rap/Hip Hop regularly uses certain drum machines and synth setups to create sounds in those bass ranges. My assumption is that he was adding that little layer to the song he was credited to.

The other possibility is that the 'sub drum' credit is missing something. There a thing called a sub kick drum, which is a diaphragm based microphone that can 'lower' the range of a kick drum (no sure if that needs to be manipulated and or controlled by someone other than the drummer) which could be another option.

I don't know

I know that I do not like... sub bass, sub drums, sub vocals, sub guitar or sub keyboards

I mean could it be any more complicated or dense?

Just silliness.

I love the sub bass on Cd. Very deep and intense.

The one sub bass note I really like is the begining of This I Love solo. It adds so much to the impact of the piercing guitar bend from Robin.. Smiley

Yeah some of the sub-bass I do like, but overall it was overused on some songs.
