This is the greatest and best song in the world!

Great song.  Jealous the Pittsburgh will probably hear it tonight instead of last Friday at Hershey, but there is no doubt this band still has great music to release.

The only information so far is from Universal on YouTube, it just says "Composer  Lyricist: Guns N' Roses".

At the country club today, they know I'm a fan.  I wear a GNR hat.  I'm not a hard read.

But 3 dudes come up to me today and say, "hey, dig that new song, he sounds great."

I felt like a proud dad.

Of the 3 songs ( Hard Skool, Absurd & Perhaps), this song seems to be getting the most attention.  Hearing it a lot on Satellite radio this weekend and references on social media.

That's pretty obvious...absurd is unlistenable, not radio friendly at all....Hard school is more gnr oriented but apart from enjoying axl's vocals you get used to it very fast. Perhaps has a poppy sound without things in it that can really disturb the casual fan, plus it's very short and linear, good lyrics but not prosopopeic or never ending lyrics in ol' axl's fashion. Radio friendly but yet not banal, so it works.

My order of the songs so far.  Loving 'perhaps'!

1. Perhaps 8/10
2. Hard-Skool 6/10
3. Absurd (SilkWorms much better IMO) 4/10

Hopefully we will get a run of new (old  Wink) material now!

I was curious about how well the song's done in the charts.

http://www.itunescharts.net/artists/music/guns-n-roses/songs/perhaps/

Perhaps ranked 3rd in both the UK and CA songs chart, #9 in America on August 18th.

Not too bad all things considered. I don't recall Absurd or Hard Skool ranked that high.

I haven't noticed that someone commented on the meaning of the song and who it was written for...
When CD came out some of the songs were interpreted as songs that were written about Slash... such as Sorry. Perhaps feels like a song from the CD era, and perhaps only the harder chorus could be interpreted as such, if it was written during the "hate" period between Axl and Slash
Got a lot more than I bargained for
You're all alone now
You forgot about the others you were fighting for
You're all alone
Ooh, sold out to the ones that you once ignored
You're all alone now
You used to be a little crazy, now there's so much more
You're all alone

I was always under the impression that Axl felt betrayed by slash and the rest of the band, when they left.
Hey, my sense of rejection
Hey, hey
Is no excuse for my behavior, hey
You pulled the gun, hey, hey
That shot and crucified my savior

On the other hand, the beginning of the song, sounds as if it is about a love relationship that has gone sour...
I can`t quite catch the meaning of the song, although I love it. I guess my imagination is not wide enough at this point peace
