So excited for this one. It'll be my 4th GN'R show. (4 1/2, really--I saw Velvet Revolver in Nashville years ago.) This one's special, though, because I'm a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. I'm really hoping for a litho that has a Cards/Busch theme, but regardless, I'm so jazzed to see my favorite band in my favorite stadium!

I'm ready for the show, just have to get my ass in my seat.   hihi  Maybe something to honor Tina Turner on the litho?

For once, they should include Richard on the litho.

The email says postponed due to illness. I hope he is OK and it's nothing serious.

It was pretty obvious in Kentucky Axl's voice was sick.  Good that they put his voice before the show.  The question now is how long does he have to rest it or is it something worse.

Sorry for the band, the show is fucking great.  Axl was sounding really good, through lots of shows.  In the meantime, would like to extend St Louis hospitality but we are a cesspool of pollen, not good for Axl's voice either, move on.

And hey, the Cardinals suck this year.  Plenty of slots to rebook.  I don't mind waiting for a healthy Axl voice.  Best frontman out there.

Got through that one with a positive attitude.  Really I'm pretty bummed.    Cry

They could hit us again around the Kansas City show but I think that would be pushing it.

Maybe they could come back at the end of the tour? But it might be too cold for an outdoor venue by then... Undecided

We're usually okay all the way to just before Halloween and then it's a question of will it hold or is winter knocking on the door.  If they are going that late, I would hope it would be a day show for some warmth but then again I like their light show.  I think I would still like warmth over light show.

No word from the band yet?  How many shows are they cancelling?

I guess November is it.  Amy saw it on something Slash put out.  This is going to be interesting.  Hopefully they make it a day show but I really do like the light show.

I just noticed this thread also says June.   hihi

Assuming it's Axl's voice that is ill, do they have to run tests for that?  Busch Stadium has a lot of pull in the medical community but the doctor's excuse happen on Friday and somethings just can't get done with the weekend the next day.

Would have been a lovely night for a concert although I probably would have had to buy a sweatshirt.

What did Slash put out? As far as I know, he hasn't said anything about November...  Huh

I'm getting very curious to see whether they try to tack the show on to the end of the current tour in late October or early November, of if there are touring plans in the spring and STL just gets booked with those. I'll be there either way, but I like the idea of waiting for a May or June show next year better than a late fall show in the Midwest, where the temp could be anywhere from 90 to 0. Smiley

I'd rather they just cancel the show if they can't get back to us this year and start over again next year or whenever they make it back here.  I would hate to get stuck next year in our summer heat.

Looks like that's more or less how it went. Sorry to see it happen, but not sad to avoid sitting in an open-air stadium in November. I'm sure they'll swing back by at some point!

No Cards in the playoffs.  I think they just want to shut Busch down for the season.  Still time to book an indoor venue.  Would have to be quick ticket sales but the iron is hot.  The show is great, shame to miss it.

I went through Busch so my refund happens automatically.

So I'm holding out hope for announcement this week they've scheduled an indoor place.  Richard said the band wanted to get here ASAP.  They've been scheduling October and so many more places they could hit.
