Go-Go's Bassist Talks About Working With Gilby + Club Co-Owned By VR Subject of Reality TV Show
Go-Go's bassist Kathy Valentine recently spoke to Classic Rock Revisited about her upcoming solo debut, "Light Years", which features guest appearances by former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley and ex-Guns N' Roses axeman Gilby Clarke. Here's what she said about Gilby:

Kathy: "I was friends with Gilby when he was in a band called Candy — we go back for years and years. We live in the same neighborhood and we have always been in touch. In 1990, we did a tour together with a bunch of people called The Wild Bunch. We stayed in touch and he was actually the first person I asked to help me. I trusted him to be supportive. If it sounded bad then I wouldn’t be too embarrassed. Gilby is a great guy and I respect his input. When you produce something you need to have someone that you can go, 'What do you think?' There is an old joke that says, 'What makes a great producer?' The answer is, 'I don't know. What do you think?' I was one of those producers who needed reassurance."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, a proposed reality show set at a Manhattan rock 'n' roll club co-owned by two members of Grammy-winning rock group Velvet Revolver is drawing interest from several cable networks, sources said.

Original Media, the company behind the tattoo reality show "Miami Ink", is shopping around "Snitch", which takes place at a New York venue of the same name and follows the workers, from the bouncers to the bartenders. Each episode would also feature a musical guest who would appear and perform on the show.

Velvet Revolver, whose singer Scott Weiland and bassist Duff McKagan, are among the investors, have helped make Snitch a popular postconcert haunt for the hard-rock subculture. Other regulars include SUM 41 and Cypress Hill.
