Former GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist To Appear On BOO YAA TRIBE CD

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash will appear on a "rap-metal album" currently being worked on by the veteran rap outfit BOO YAA TRIBE, according to Billboard. No further details are available at this time.

BOO YAA TRIBE rose to prominence with its 1990 debut, "New Funky Nation", but in later years failed to duplicate the success of that effort. The group's most recent album, "Mafia Lifestyle", was issued on the independent S.M. Records in 2000.

From Page Six, in the New York Post today:

MIAMI HEAT

IT was a steamy night of celebration at Opium Garden's three-year anniversary in South Beach. Rockers Scott Weiland and Duff McKagan, singer and bassist in Axl Rose-free Guns N' Roses offshoot Velvet Revolver, introduced a sultry swimwear show by designer Susan Holmes, who happens to be McKagan's girlfriend. The festivities got starlet Eliza Dushku so fired up that she stripped to her skivvies and performed a lascivious lap dance for model Kylie Bax. In the VIP lounge, hoops legend Charles Barkley took off his shirt before jumping behind the bar to serve drinks. Weiland, fresh from rehab, drank nothing but O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer.

GN'R were mentioned in KNAC.com's review of the new Black Label Society album:

The Blessed Hellride is the fourth studio album by Zakk’s lumbering monolith, Black Label Society. Five albums (including a live one) in five years! Now that’s impressive! Tool could learn a thing or two from Zakk, huh? Guns ‘N Roses too, come to think of it.
