There's a Axl mention in a New York Times article called Guy in Skirt Seeks Sensitivity in Brooklyn
By MICHAEL BRICK

Here's the Axl mention:

I had already bargained, and denial was doing no good, so when the skirt arrived on Wednesday afternoon, I tried procrastination. I took it home, reasoning that I would put it on in the morning for a full day of going about my business and recording reactions. Besides, that way I could plan what to wear with the thing, since my closet is overflowing with choices for matching skirts.

Nobody had anything helpful to offer on that score

"Well, when Axl Rose wears a skirt, he wears white socks and black combat boots," said Diane Cardwell, another reporter for The Times in Brooklyn. "Beyond that, I don't know what to say."

Scott Weiland was a little late for his court-ordered detox Thursday night, since he stopped in to sing two songs at a quick gig to open Velvet Revolver bandmate Duff McKagan's wife's fashion show. Originally, Weiland and McKagan were slated to play only one song — an acoustic cover of the Rolling Stones' "Angie" — at Susan Holmes' presentation of her spring 2004 swimwear line at SmashBox in Culver City, California. But the rest of the band joined them — including sometime member Izzy Stradlin and engineer Douglas Grean on keyboards — for not only the RS cover, but also a new original song called "You Got No Right."

Matt Sorum was interviewed on 103.3 WEDG in Buffalo on Friday.

He talked about being with Weiland when he was arrested for his recent hit and run. Matt said Weiland was using perscription drugs to kicks his other drug addictions.

He also mentioned that the Velvet Revolver album is planned to come out in March.

He also briefly talked about how Axl took control of GN'R and "destroyed" the band. Apparently while the other members dealt with the pressure of being rock stars by using drugs, Axl dealt with the pressure by taking over of the band.

But, he added that if he had to choose between working with Axl or Tori Amos again, he'd choose Axl.
