Little example from last night of why the world loves the Irish (I'm Scottish)
Slane Castle, in the middle of Slash's solo:

[Irish and a Scottish accents optional while reading this]

Del: Mate, how long'd you have to queue for the beer.
Random Irish bloke: Total nightmare, like. 20mins. I missed bloody Could Be Mine. Its ma bloody favourite, like.
Del: Fk that, I'm not waiting 20 mins.
Random Irish Bloke: 20 mins like, and now I can't find ma bloody friends.
Del: Well if you can't find them I'll buy a pint off you.
Random Irish Bloke. Ah fk it, here, take this one. Cheers!
Del: Cheers!

So, thank you to the random Irish guy, hope you had a great gig

Personally during a gig I've spent a load on and am looking forward to I like to, you know, listen to the music. Rather than wander around, visit the bar and chat. Don't understand why people feel the need to do things like this at all.

He said "for Chris" at the end of the song.

Also, the music at the end of the show was by Chris Cornell.
You Know My Name, I think...
/jarmo

Before BHS, he said they were doing something they only tried the day before the came out.
After BHS, simply "For Chris"

You Know My Name was the Casino Royale 007 theme song by Cornell. Classy all round from Gn'R

Very glad they did the tribute. Especially since they covered Soundgarden on TSI.

I've got some videos uploaded now, hotel wifi not the best so takes time to upload
Twat has just been uploaded YouTube.com/zaksliwka along with jungle, it's so easy, chi dem, more to
Follow.

Yesterday was inane, it never stopped raining from when I arrived at 10am right the way through to about 6 ish and it was just constant through out and very heavy, finally started drying up when guns hit the stage at 7:52pm I know that's precise but a guy predicted it and I said 8 ha! Such a great atmosphere, no dickheads really, Irish fans are amazing.

Seeing slash for the first time was unreal, guys on another level. It's just a bit surreal really and when axl introduced Slash for his solo he said 'here's your friend and mine' just so fucking cool. One of my best experiences ever.

More videos to follow www.youtube.com/zaksliwka
Thanks zak.
Thanks man. Audio is a bit shotty, but it's the only There Was A Time video I found on YouTube so far:

Nothing that i see, if anything it was the longest set song wise they've done to date. The only possible omission was My Michelle.

Thanks for filling in the gaps of what he said about Chris.

I recall axl saying they were going to try something (new?) and that they'd only worked on it (?) last week and played it yesterday.  And that he wished they were playing it in entirely different circumstances.  Along those lines.  And yep - the "for chris" at the end.  I took video of the whole song, but dont have any of that talking before/after. Its not great footage, but as I was on Duff's side, I had the nice castle background every time the guys hit the catwalk.

And yep - the James Bond Casino Royale song, You know my Name (Cornell) was played over the PA after the bows when the fireworks started, which was really cool.

It was an amazing gig...something about the air in ireland and the atmosphere of Slane, start of tour etc etc - was just so psyched for this gig!  A LOT of walking and a LOT of rain - but we cared not!  To be honest, although it was a hell of a trek onsite - the organisation re shuttle buses for dublin was pretty good.  Once we got on ours (which was there as soon as we got there (after an hour walk!), we zoomed straight to dublin, no delays.  Well done for 80,000+ imo.

The gig was so good, the band seemed to really enjoy and each were interacting with people in the crowd and everyone vibing off each other.  Thanks Ireland - it fkn rocked!  I've always wanted to go to Slane and it really was something else!

i also saw the GnR plane at the airport - it was right by my gate!  I was poised at the window, then had to board, once down on the tarmac, I was taking a pic (as were a few others) - we literally standing almost right by it - and the ground staff came over, all smiles - saw our gnr shirts etc and gently reminded us our plane was "this way"....  rofl

'Black Hole Sun' sounded amazing for a song they only practiced the day before.

I saw Susan McKagans Instagram My Story. (i think its gone now) of the set list.

The set alternatives included

There Was A Time (which was played)
Perfect Crime
Used To Love Her
Youre Crazy (Fast Version)
and if i remember correctly Catcher In The Rye And Sorry were there also.

Perfect Crime would be cool to see with this lineup. I think it has been in alt setlists since 2006!
