In the best album of this decade thread half of the people who posted an answer named a 90s album. I realise this isn't because half the people who posted can't read, it's because inspite starting the rise of the current Pop culture we all now live in with lots of bad music in the charts and a lack of good original artists, the 90s also had many of the best albums we all own.

In magazines with countdowns of great albums more albums come from the 90s than any other decade, this isn't just because it's fresh in our minds, it's because it was a truly great decade for Albums.

So people what is your Favorite album from the 90s.

Only studio albums please, no soundtracks, collections, best ofs, remixes, or reissues.

Mine is "The Bends" by Radiohead.

1. Achtung Baby - U2
2. The Bends - Radiohead
3. Grave Dancer's Union - Soul Asylum
4. Use Your Illusion I - Guns N' Roses
5. Definately Maybe - Oasis(just edged out Morning Glory)

Other great albums:
Wish - The Cure
Vs - Pearl Jam
Zooropa - U2
Use Your Illusion II - Guns N' Roses
August and Everything After - Counting Crows
Pablo Honey - Radiohead

etc. etc.

I mellowed out alot in the 90's when Gn'R went on hiatus. basically the hard rock in me went into hibernation when Guns did.

1. Nevermind - Nevermind
2. Vs - Pearl Jam
3. BSSM - RHCP
4. Black - Metallica
5. Ten - Pearl Jam
*. Singles Soundtrack (defined the 90's) - Various Artists
7. Achtung Baby - U2
8. Superunknown - Soundgarden
9. Ritual De Lo Habitual - Jane's Addiction
10. Siamese Dream - Smashing Pumpkins
10*. Rage Against the Machine - Self Titled Debut

Since no Soundtracks were allowed, I'll place Rage Against the Machine  in at 10 with an asterik. I was never a big Rage fan but feel since they pretty much invented the whole rap/rock style with their debut, I'll give them the nod ahead of other great albums.

I hate when these threads turn into a list of each poster's 100 favourite albums/songs.  Why don't you guys try to narrow it down to one choice and defend that choice?  We already know there are a long list of great albums released in the 90s!

sorry i didn't realize it was only supposed to be a single album

right now my single fav 90's album is No More Tears...just incredible all around

Zakk Wylde really came into his own on it, Ozzy's lyrics and vocals shine, 5 singles (I don't Wanna Change The World, Mama I'm Comin' Home, No More Tears, Hellraiser, Road To Nowhere), Randy Castillo and Mike Inez are also Incredible on it

just the perfect album, it really can't get any better IMO ok

Adnan - Cool choice on Black Crowes 'Shake your Money Maker" . I was thinking about adding that into my list, not your typical "90's" album.

#1, I'd have to say Nevermind , sounds cliche but IMHO that is as close to perfection in an album as I'd like to hear.

NOTE: Personal Opinion.

Plus I'm sure alot has to due with where I was in life, 19, just out of high school, didn't like many kids in my college... kinda not fitting in socially at the time. Listening to those songs was my escape & stated the words I wanted to say. (Still not sure what, just angst I suppose). On A Plain is my favorite Nirvana song ("I love myself, I'm better than you, I know it's wrong, but what should I do...")

My albums speak for themselves, and the are in order of awesomeness, even if they're all great. The guys listing pop albums are easily ignored, anyway.

The only list in this thread I respect.

If I was forced to say one album, probably Rust I Peace by Megadeth.  The people who are saying Black album or (chuckle) Load really don't have a good handle on metal imo and should be ignored.

I don't quite understand how you can say "nirvana doesn't deserve it", but then you list Metallicas "Black" as one of the best?
Opinions though, but what else can we argue about really?
