we all know its gonna be the same set list from the last leg. the promoters over there arent dumb. they need to have the greastest hits to sell tickets...its that simple.....

Where The F is the logic in that? Adding two new songs wouldn't erase all of the greatest hits! IT'S THAT SIMPLE!

I don't think this thread was started as a complaint about the "sameness" of the setlist, which it has turned into.  And this subject has been beaten to death.

Just listened to the Talking Metal Live interview with Bumblefoot and they mentioned how Rose Tattoo, opener for the Australian shows I believe, were the originators of the song "Nice Boys".  I knew I had heard of the band somewhere.  Now this is just me speculating, Ron mentioned how he doesn't like how his words get twisted in these interviews by us fans.  So this is me speaking, not Ron.  Possible jam on "Nice Boys" for those shows.  Either Axl joining Rose Tattoo, or some members of Rose Tattoo joing GNR.  It's a thought.  That would give those of us clamoring for some changes something to chew on.

I'm on a big Lennon kick right now.  How appropriate as a lead-in for Catcher in the Rye would Watching the Wheels be?  I think it would be perfect!!!  Check out these lyrics...it could be to CITR as It's Alright was to November Rain....

Lennon
Song: Watching the Wheels

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I'm o.k. well they look at me kind of strange
Surely you're not happy now you no longer play the game

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

Ah, people asking questions lost in confusion
Well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind
I tell them there's no hurry
I'm just sitting here doing time

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go
I just had to let it go

Am I nuts?  I think it would be a perfect fit.   peace

Edit: New subject... /jarmo

I suggest waiting for the new album before hoping you get new songs in the setlist.  I mean, who would want a setlist filled with shit new songs?

hehe, not that i think they are going to be shit. Just imagin die hard fans faces when they play a set of mainstream pop bollocks with a guest appearence from Justin Timberlake coz Axls wanting to keep it 'fresh'.

Arg, with all this waiting im going off the rails  no

People, don't forget that beside us (hardcore GN'R fans) in the concerts, there are going to be people that don't know anything about GN'R except November Rain and Patience. I never saw them in your lists...

i haven't posted a dream setlist here, but as i read the title of the thread it doesn't say "your dream setlist for 10,000 people", it's only your personal setlist, and if i were to chose NR and patience would be history and I wouldn't care about the below-casual 20 year old female fans hihi

I'd rather hear shotgun blues then patience

Yeah, yeah sure...you're perfectly right. I'm just saying that if you wish sold outs, you should put November Rain, Patience, SCOM, Jungle and so on. Otherwise my perfect setlist would be:

Welcome To The Jungle
Mr. Brownstone
It's So Easy
Better
New Song
Perfect Crime
Coma
New Song
Band Introduction
The Blues
Patience
You Could Be Mine
November Rain
New Song
Sweet Child O'mine

Encore
Civil War
Chinese Democracy
Paradise City

...or something like this. They can replace for some shows Perfect Crime with Double Talkin' Jive...Coma with Estranged or Locomotive...new song with other new song or Madagascar. I mean more flexible setlist would be just perfect.
