Well never heard of Mercy Drive, but to me Alter Bridge is horrid.  Sorry.

Alter Bridge are superb live! I only know of Mercy Drive through their song " Burn In My Light" being used by WWE's Randy Orton.

Believe me dude, that is one of their worst songs! Go here to download some audio clips of their songs and tell me what you think. My favourites are "Pressed" and "See You Crawl."
