Looks like the GH lawsuit may not be going any further:

Quote
I have emailed Dale Fischer's clerk (Paul Pierson), and I got this as a response

With regard to your inquiry, the plaintiffs have filed a Notice of
Dismissal and the matter is no longer at issue

It basically means, Axl has dropped the case. It will NOT be going to court

Good news I think

(again, creditted to the admin at the rumor board)

Do you think Axl and management have figured they would lose anyway, or have really good sales changed their mind?

It's possible, but I dunno. It wouldn't surprise me. I think they may have thought the public wouldn't buy into it, but the public has overwhelmingly snatched it up.

Maybe "overwhelming" is the wrong word. I don't have exact US numbers, but they're sure it might reach over 100k in the first week.

I forsure think Axl and Sanctuary thought the album would flop almost immediately after being released, but to their surprise ir is actually a selling success. I hope it gave Axl a confidence boost as to the current selling power of the name, and restored some faith and confidence back in his current lineup. For CD's sake, I just hope Geffen wont hold a grudge to Axl persueing blocking the release of Greatest Hits.
