What things do you guys miss? Big or small.

I miss my cabin bed back in my room at home (well, I am home where I am, but I guess I'm home in my family's house too). I also miss my form tutor from back when I was in school a few years ago. I miss the company of my two closest friends, who are both off living their lives. And last but not least, I miss my ex. We (she) ended our friendship in early May, and surprisingly I've been happier since then, but tonight something triggered off my emotions and I've been really upset, which I think is what drove me to start this thread. It's not about me missing her though, I just realised how much I do miss her, despite thinking I'm happy a lot of the time now, and um...yeah. I'm just ranting. I also miss having dark curtains, 'cause they stop light coming in, thus allowing me to sleep until 2pm without too much hassle.

I miss my cat, Joey. I miss him sleeping on my lap. He was my little baby.

coaching soccer at the summer camp i worked at last summer in conneticut. i'd love to go back and see my kids again and go out with the counsellors that became my family for three months. Hit ny at the weekends and basically be a big kid, constantly playing soccer in really lovely countryside with wonderful people. I can't afford to go back as student debts are creeping up on me and the shitty wage they pay means i'd barely break even. Ah well, was great whilst it lasted.

I miss florida where i stayed for vacation recently, I'd move there in a second ok but other than that  I miss my grandparent's house along the river with my old golden retriever dog , that girl was my best friend since i was like 2 .Then traggedy crashed in when a train instantly killed my grandfather and the dog as they were in the pick-up truck crossing across the railrod during a bad fog .

My girlfriend.  I'm near Cleveland, OH, she's in Wichita Falls, TX.  You do the math.

For those not geographically inclined, that's 1,056 miles apart.

How could I forget skiing?! I miss it too! I actually snowbladed for 6 of the 7 days of my last skiing holiday in Switzerland, and I miss blading much more than skiing. It's better  Tongue I broke one of my blades  Grin whilst blading backwards and falling over down a section of a black slope. Aw, so much fun though. That was one of the reasons I fell in love with blading so much - it's just really easy to spin around, go backwards, jump etc. Ah I just miss the snow and the mountains anyway, regardless of what equipment I'm using to glide down them. I wanna be a ski instructor one day, I think.

And for those not mathematically inclined, that's a long way  ok

Ah, the benefits of living on a land mass far smaller than the US. I'm never that far away from anyone unless they're on holiday.

The coaching side of it was a bit of a let down - imagine coming over to scotland and trying to coach baseball; the kids generally weren't too interested, and those that where were pretty poor. I still got to play soccer for a living which has always been my dream. I stayed in some cheap-ass hotel just off times square (shit i was a tourist). Most days i'd get up a around 11, if i felt like it i'd call some of my friends from camp that were in town or i'd just go off and wander around the city. I think i spent 4 or five days doing nothing but playing soccer in central park or just sitting with my guitar. Not much chance of clubbing tho - too young to get in anywhere worth it. Managed to bullshit my way into a few irish bars in town tho and get a few drinks by chatting with the bartenders for long enough.

true man, neevr thought about that... While here did you watch any new sports you never got into back home? I always worked near time square ,alot of those big building are fairly new.. You could always find some porn or hookers and bars down eight avenue from 42nd street up.. Being america is loaded with immigrants you do see loads of south amercans playing soccer in the baseball fields..
I am sure you had no problem bullshitting into some of the local irish bars,.,...  Something about someone european that they just let in.. Central park can be really cool, almost like nature fenced in around the biggest city.. So you already did all your schooling or was this just some get away for a semester..

I'll tell you, you would have had fun in the outside of manhattan like brooklyn where I live.. Money would have went a litle ways especially at the bars.. A place called bay ridge in brooklyn is awesome loaded with irish pubs,,,
