On the internet there's a version of Mabel's Fatal Fable floating around in which a part of the song is replaced by a part of "Lane's Blitz". The song is credited to Jason Becker & Shawn Lane. Since it is done very convincing it fooled a lot of people (apparently including me and Genesis Wink). Word was spread then that Shawn recorded a tribute to Jason, based on this hybride. I really think this is the thing were talking about here...

Sheesh, I think ur right  Embarrassed . A couple of music sites are offering the same song, done by Shawn Lane. I'll check it out.

i don't know who shawn lane is, could you maybe link a video that isn't 70 megabytes though?

For u: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=40GJSTM0 (7MB). Just a sample clip.  peace

first link doesn't work...second link is Mabel's Fatal Fable (doesn't start at beginning though, there is more before this part, starts off with some sweet harmonics then more...). It's all Becker until 2:41. After that it's not part of MFF....Awesome guitar at the end, doesn't quite fit the song, but that's pretty incredible. Couldn't get that video to work either that you linked last post, probably my browser.

The last +/- 37 seconds are indeed Lane, taking it rather slow however. Wink

The hybrid was crafted by some fan, hence the two parts not quite complementing each other. Did you by any chance download the "All along the Watchtower" -mp3 yet?? It should be somewhere in this post:

The big videofile of Lane is still something I highly recommend as well!! Cheesy

Here?s another one that should be added to the list. Heard his name being mentioned (the first time) a few months ago, when a friend described him to me as the new Malmsteen.?Fortunately two links of the good man appeared on Buckethead.tk yesterday (thanks to ryzueo), I wasn?t able to find clips of ?m on the net...

After having heard a few of his songs and especially after those clips, I must say that he must be one of the fastest players around. A new neoclassical monsterplayer. So when great melodies, insane sweeping sequences, harmonized arpeggios and diminished patterns are your thing, Matthew Mills is your man. It has been a long time ago since neoclassical shred has sounded this good to me (so good that I'm thinking of getting his newest album)....
