It's over, folks. Just heard from a source that the whole thing is scrapped and supposedly Weiland is headed to rehab. Apparently, he was "a mess" at the L.A. show last night.

I spoke to the House of Blues in San Diego.  That is what I was told.

When I say canceled I mean the San Diego show.

The Australian tour was originally meant to start in December, then the dates got pushed back into January, then February... Yeh, I think they were meant to be in Australia around about now.

Where is Jim Bob to explain that this situation is not at all illogical and was long expected  Huh

Anyway, sorry for the 1000 fans who had bought tix for tonight's show...

On the bright side, Slash can now resume his magnificent and profitable book signing tour and focus on his solo record.

Here we go...

VELVET REVOLVER's SCOTT WEILAND Enters Rehab - Feb. 7, 2008

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received the following official statement from VELVET REVOLVER:

"Following VELVET REVOLVER's performance last night [Wednesday, February 6] in Los Angeles, lead singer Scott Weiland voluntarily entered a rehab facility. Tonight's San Diego show at the House of Blues has been postponed; the rescheduled date for San Diego is [to be announced]. VELVET REVOLVER deeply apologize to their fans and thank them for sticking by the group."

Weiland was arrested on November 21, 2007 when he crashed his car while driving on an L.A. highway.

He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs with a prior conviction, and with an allegation that he refused a chemical test as required by law.

Can you elaborate?  I just read a review from artistdirect.com of the show and he gave Scott and VR a great review, I also read at another forum from someone who was there and they said about the same thing.

I wonder what prompted this move...right now?

Is this the end of Velvet Revolver?  And what of the STP reunion?

Time will tell I suppose.

I'm guessing that VR will resume after Mr. Weiland gets out of rehab? On another note, I don't hold out a lot of hope for Scott to stay clean and sober. I mean, look how many times he's been to rehab already. If all of those times failed why would this time be different?

That's fair and having said that, where do the other four recovering addicts and alcoholics in the band stand?  At a certain point don't you have to draw a line in the sand and protect yourself and your sobriety?
