I wonder what "stadium" means...I'd like to see some outdoor shows, but I'll certainly take whatever I can get.  beer

Would be cool if they could pull in a Linkin Park and maybe The Killers or something.

My god.  That just sounds awful.

Trying to think of two bands, that would open but yet have big fanbases.

Could this be the rumored Metallica/GNR Tour? Or was that shot down? It seems if their planning on a stadium tour in the states than it would make sense it being a co-headlining tour. Support in the States hasn't shown that they could sell out stadiums by themselves. Hate to say it but unfortunetly thats fact.

Make one of these stadiums Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso Tx and I am one happy GNR fan.  hihi

Or at least someplace close. Like Phoenix. How can they have a tour and not go to Phoenix? Fuckin everybody goes to Phoenix.  smoking

Now this is the news that I want to read about. Of course he will stop at the GREATEST football stadium known as Giants Stadium. I also might add that it was the Giants who beats the 3 time champions.Smiley I'm just busting on the chops of the guy who brought up the Patroits.

They very well may hit one of the two new stadiums, Citifield or the New Yankee stadium!( and I would Citifield as I work there as a supervisor for the club areas !!!

Not sure if Georgie boy would allow this kind of music to be played in his new money pit.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be there in a heartbeat. But what was the last concert at Yankee Stadium? Pink Floyd in 1994. Before that? U2. A very rare occurrence.

This is really really great news!

Everyone who is worried should calm a little and enjoy it. I'm sure the plans are coming together. GNR has a history of not doing stuff, but they have absolutely no history of doing stuff poorly.

While i loved seeing them in a small setting at Hammerstein in 06... with this band it really is the bigger the stage the better. A stadium tour is exactly what's required.
And i'm sure there are plenty of bands who would love to come along.

U know though, it just might work if like I said everything lines up and is handled PERFECTLY

If it is handled anywhere like the CD release.......... It could be a disaster but lets be optimistic.

Sometimes when u build something up like this as AN EVENT! people who normally wouldn't go, GO just because of the hugeness of it.

They do Giants Stadium, u will attract people from New Jersey, New York, Philly, Boston, Delaware *can't forget u Prez* and various other surrounding states, so selling 50k tickets really is very possible.

now, since this is such a HUGE event, u do another one in Gillete Stadium in Boston. Now u get people from not only Boston, but the reverse of Giants Stadium, plus Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Philly, maybe some Detroiters

So really 50k tickets, if u do it on a WEEKEND could really work. If u factor in the 5 or 6k that attended the arenas and multiply that by the number of states that will be represented at each show.  very doable.

Citizens Bank Park in Philly is a nice place to hit up too...

Agreed. Axl better hit that up and down the street, so I don't have to travel outta state to see GN'R.

U know, a free Philly show would be such an amazing positive PR move if Axl would do it.

And if I can dream... how about having Bach open for them, then have Axl scramble out on-stage to trade verses on Back in the Saddle  drool

Grin
At first I loved this idea, but then suddenly I realized I wouldn't like seeing Axl before the dramatic entrance of GNR (i'm assuming either WTTJ or CD to open).... but i'm still down for taking Bach along, and for any duets/covers whatever.

Note to GN'R:

Please make Foxboro, Massachusetts- home of the three-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots-one of the stops on the tour.

Thank You.  ok

Then come to pittsburgh.  Home of the SIX time super bowl champs. Funny, when I seen them there in 1992 (best show ever) we already had 4!

Faith No More? Foo Fighters? Aerosmith? Ahh the possibilities are endless. This is making my head hurt.

GNR Fest 09?
GNR, A7X, Papa Roach, Baz, Korn.

I'm going to stop spreading my great ideas, if you use them Axl -- I want some credit for organizing.

I heard Limp Bizkit are getting back together

Limp Bizkit would do nothing but attract negativity and convince people NOT to go  hihi

Korn is a good idea.  Kid Rock only has a couple of dates announced this summer.

Azoff knows what he's doing, I'm sure that he'll put together a strong lineup
