OK I've decided to make this survivor a best album one instead of best song. (Ignatus, *Izzy* and others showed me the error of my ways) Basically there are too many songs and too many different tastes for that to be possible. Anyway here is the outline (I stole the format from Ignatus ) You make the list. Not me. I'm gonna divide this section into 5 different categories. The 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & 00's. We are gonna start in reverse order, starting from 00's Just supply a list of the 10 albums from this decade that you think should be considered to enter the Best Album of all Time Survivor. Once you cast the votes, I'll then provide the list with the most voted albums from this decade based on your votes. You will then vote off your least favorite (as done in the Frontman survivor) to finally get a winner. We will then move to the 90's, then 80's and so on. Once we have our 5 best albums of all time, I will have a consolation round for most voted albums to nominate 1 or 2 more. With 6 or 7 Albums left we will then enter the grand finale and vote for the ultimate Album of all time. Rules.- 1.- As said, you make the list. not me. Majoritiy wins. 2.- 10 albums per decade. That's all. If you can't come up with 10, just supply as many as you can. The purpose of this votation is to have as many people involved as possible. 3.- List the Album name and the group which made it. 4.-only one album per band per decade. 5.-Let's try to keep it to rock music. All genres, but rock. 6.-No Greatest Hits Albums and No Live Albums. Only Original Studio Albums I think that's all. I will leave this thread open till next Monday. Remember, first thing to do is to come up with your own list of the top 10 Albums of this decade. Once we have the list, you will vote off your least favorite ( but that won't happen till next week) If any of you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to pm me or post them here. One more thing, this is a GNR message board, so I think any albums by GnR, VR or any solo project by a GnR member should not be allowed in this competition, Stone Temple Pilots, however, are allowed. Some albums from the 21st century: (Alphabetical Order) A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step Audioslave - Out of Exile Black Label Society - Mafia Bon Jovi- Crush Cold Play - X & Y The Darkness - Permission to Land Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists Foo Fighters - In Your Honour Green Day - American Idiot INXS - Switch Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory Megadeth - The System Has Failed Metallica - St. Anger Nickleback - The State Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth Pantera - Reinventing The Steel Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf Radiohead - Kid A Stone Temple Pilots - Shangri -- La Dee Da The Strokes - Is This It Three Days Grace - Three Days Grace Tool - Lateralus U2 - How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb Weezer - Green The White Stripes - Elephant **This is by no means a complete list. feel free to add you favorite if i missed it. Remember no more than 10 nominations per person and no Greatest Hits or Live Albums allowed. Ok that's it .... vote away

If an album came out in 2000, does it belong in the 21st century or the 20th? Technically it's the 20th, but then again...

I thought about nominating this, but then I thought why bother when there's barely any chance anyone else here has heard it...

I am not going to allow VR in the competition cuz this is a GnR message board and alot of people idolize slash, duff and matt here so the odds are in their favor. I think the same should go with Buckethead. (If anyone disagrees with that let me know, but i think the odds would be similarily stacked in his favor) Also, Izzy, Adlers Appetite (if they even have an album ), Tommy Stinson (I'm sure Tommy's album is good and all but I very much doubt it would be the best of all time. On this board however i could see it winning), Slash's Snakepit, Duff McKagan. these bands are not allowed Bands which are allowed: Stone Temple Pilots, Replacements, Primus

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: Nocturama
I skipped Nick because I didn't think he'd fit in the rock category, but none the less, might I wonder why you chose Nocturama over No More Shall We Part? Most people, like me for example, consider NMSWP one of his best, and Nocturama one of his least inspiring.

Most people, like me for example, consider NMSWP one of his best, and Nocturama one of his least inspiring. No doubt that NMSWP is a very deep album unlike Nocturama. But I have to be in the right (or even more: bad) mood to listen NMSWP, while Nocturama can enter my cd player anytime. (Babe I'm on Fire is one of the best fun songs ever.) But it was hard to choose since Nick Cave's past 2000 albums are all good, I don't see too much difference in quality. I'd choose Abattoir Blues if it was only the better half. And, of the three, it's the closest to rock.

doesn't matter. the albums i mentioned above got 3 each a staggering 145 albums were nominated for the 90's we gotta keep the nominations down to 10 per poster anybody can vote this stage too since the nominations are essentially over, so even if you already nominated you can help an album get into one of the final 2 positions
