I was just thinking it has been three plus years since American Idiot. Anyone know what these guys are up to ? Recording i would assume. It will be interesting to see what they follow up American Idiot with.

In an interview with Kerrang!, Billie Joe Armstrong revealed that 2008 would "be a fair estimate of the release date of their new "Untitled 8th Studio Album","

In October, Billie Joe announced more on this new album, saying he had been writing new material on the piano, and had around 45 songs. He stated he wanted the new music to dig into what he's feeling at the moment - which is middle-aged.[40]

I can see the next album being pretty diverse and political aswell. Billie Joe is a good songwritter. This new one will be interesting.

Also heard that they are making a movie themed around American Idiot ? Anyone else hear this

Next year's the release date for the next albumm, and i can't wait to hear it, though whether or not those boys will be able to truely surpass American Idiot is hard to imagine, but it's still bound to be a good record either way!
