Im not really a fan of sports commercials cause they are not creative anymore. Agencies are given a massive budget to play with so they have their special effects and other visual elements added.

As far a I remember, I've always liked the Agassi-Sampras Nike commercials...those in which they would play one point for hours while John Mcenroe was the only attendant left. Also the Michael Jordan Nike early commercials, those were kinda groundbreaking.

I love the Bo Jackson ''Bo Knows'' Nike commercial ad.

The Bo Jackson ''Lipton Tea'' commcercial. (It was either Lipton or Nestea.)

And some of those ESPN "This Is SportsCenter" commcerials are hilarious.

There's two that stand out to me. The first is the Michael Vick commercial where the kid is "in his shoes", so to speak. Kinda like a ride at an amusement park. Very funny to see the kid's expressions. The second was the Tiger Woods commercial where he is hitting the ball in many different ways. Very cool.

I liked that Mia Hamm/Michael Jordan commercial from 5 or 6 years ago. I wish they would play it again.

Not a sports one, but sports related. Back when Don Cherry was the spokesman for Skin Bracer aftershave, there was a commerical where Cherry was standing in front of the bathroom mirror. You could hear the radio saying, "The Russians have won the Stanley Cup! The Russians have won the Stanley Cup!" Cherry slaps on some Skin Bracer, the voice stops and he says, "Boy, I needed that!"

Funny shit, only if you know Cherry and his attitude towards European hockey players, though.

For the past few years the Blue Jays have been making some hilarious ads, one of the new ones this season shows a bunch of children in their backyard.  The kids are all at a birthday party and going at the pinata with a stick... after 10 seconds or so of this, one of the Jays struts out into the middle of the game with his bat and just hammers the thing into the next yard.  All of the kids let out a groan and the player walks away all cocky.

Last year they had the crowd sitting behind the bullpen with boring looks on their faces, the batter on deck is doing his stretches and he bends over to touch his toes at one point.  The second this happens the crowd leaps from the stands and starts cheering.

As for non-funny ones... Reebok (I think) has a really good basketball commercial this year, it shows a bunch of slow motion clips of players taking a shot while a narrator lists all of the things a jump shot can get you ("A jump shot can get you: money, power, a swiss bank account, a bunch of yes-men, etc., etc.) and the last line of the commercial is "But none of these things, can get you a jump shot".
