Title: Charlie Sheen
Post by: D on March 02, 2011, 12:17:42 PM
Anybody been following this Saga?

This is awesome TV and radio

His TigersBlood, Winning, and Adonis DNA catch phrases are Fantastic!

I definitely think its hypocritical of CBS to make billions out of making fun basically of Charlie's lifestyle THEN tell him to tone it down.

Half the fun and greatness of the show, is knowing that IS charlie Sheen and he and Charlie Harper are the same guy

The above sentence is the most entertaining thing that Charlie Sheen has done since Platoon.

I actually feel that Charlie Sheen will be a somewhat cult figure for generations to come. I can imagine his image being put on T shirts, like Charles Manson and Che Guevara. He really has got everything that the general male species wants and dreams about, like women, beer, drugs, sex and a successfull career. And he can do what he wants, when he wants, he basically does what he pleases.

A true legend in the idea of freedom, good times and alchohol.  : ok:

Two and a Half Men repeat won Monday night ratings! I mean they have to realize what a gold mine all this is.

They need to patch shit up with Charlie, they are already getting 15's in the ratings which is by far the highest rated sitcom.... After all this ,I bet it would jump up to 20's.

Damn, are you serious? Two and a Half Men is the dumbest show on tv right now, if not, ever.
How it gets so many viewers, just scares me in what the population of the world finds funny.

Charlie Sheen doesn't act in it either, he pretty much plays himself, and gets millions of dollars to do so... I don't fucking get it  :nervous:

Title: Re: Charlie Sheen
Post by: GeorgeSteele on March 03, 2011, 10:35:02 AM

The public meltdown that's happening is hilarious but the show Two and a Half Men is beyond unfunny.  Who would watch that when the truth is so much funnier than the family-filtered, pre-packaged sitcom fiction.  He should just partner up with TMZ and get cameras in his house 24/7 for the Charlie Sheen Channel.

Two and a Half Men is hysterical! Some of u really don't like it?

If you take the most awful thing that's ever happened in TV, multiplied it by a billion, and anally raped its mother, it still wouldn't be as bad as Two And A Half Men...

Title: Re: Charlie Sheen
Post by: Axl4Prez2004 on March 03, 2011, 06:43:18 PM
I have still never made time on a Monday to watch 2 1/2 Men.  But I will say I have caught some re-runs and what I've seen is funny.  Mindless humor...nothing deep...just a stupid-ass sitcom that gives me some cheap laughs.  Watching hot chicks is fun too.  :)

The interviews have been great and as a man, how can you not love this guy's life? (okay, without the ex-wives, child support, alimony, and drug addiction)  Other than those things, the guy's got it made!

That's a bit overboard, isn't it?    :hihi:    Maybe it's an American humor thing, I don't know.

Anyway, we all love a good celebrity meltdown, don't we?  Why?  Is it us, as viewers, that bring this shit to the forefront?  Or is it the media that focuses on this shit, and so we follow?  Why do we like it? I think it's because it brings celebrities into "normal"  - things we can easily recognize and identify with.  Maybe.  Didn't hurt Robert Downey, Jr's career - I love him the more for it!  Maybe we like to know that celebrities can be fucked up, too, and don't even care - in your face!

Charlie is the man, how can some of you not like 2 and a half men, funny as hell. Although I would admit it's not as good now the kid is grown up, as alot of the jokes and direction was centred around the kids downfalls and randomness.

But, it's still the best thing on the box 4 sure.

But Charlie Sheen rocks, any guy who says he has not once thought "That fucker Charlie Sheen as got it all" is lying, go on admit it.  :hihi:

I think most people don't like TAHM because they dislike Charlie Sheen. It's always about how he's not "really acting" and only playing himself, which maybe true, but so what?
Besides, I like sex jokes ;D

Exactly. They mess with everyone's preconceived notions of how stars should behave and they are both so unpredictable.

Charlie Sheen has surrendered legal custody of the two kids he had with Denise Richards.

Sources intimately familiar with the situation tell TMZ ? Charlie and Denise signed a written agreement in which Denise now has full legal custody of 6-year-old Sam and 4-year-old Lola.  Up to now Charlie and Denise had joint legal custody.

Sources say Denise wanted full legal custody given Charlie?s current marital turmoil, sobriety issues and criminal problems ? and Charlie didn?t put up a fight.

The Sun newspaper, which is a UK tabloid had Charlie Sheen as their frontpage with a 2 page spread inside. They talked to him about his lifestyle, Michael Jackson, and his children among other things. And he is also going to be heavily featured in Mondays paper, as it advertises another news story with Charlie.

He lives with 2 chicks, one is an ex nannie and the other is an ex porn actress. Charlie has it made, and he said "I've just been living the dream".  :hihi:

I just watched some of "Sheen's Korner" on Youtube... this guy has lost me.  That was painful... it was like going to a bad high school party.  It seems like him and his friends would be fucking annoying to hang out with.

Any illusion that this guy has a great life that we should be jealous of just went right out the window.  Reading the comments above, really?  You guys actually found any of that funny or thought it was cool?  Even the comments on Youtube are ripping it to shreds... Sitting around with a bunch of yes-men and saying "Duh" for comedic effect?  The jokes on Two and a Half Men are already the cheapest form of comedy and he's even worse without a script.

I can see appreciating that as a celebrity, he is being "real" and true to himself.  However, that doesn't help the fact that his "real" self is painfully unfunny.  He doesn't even look happy, everything out of his mouth sounds like he's pissed off and miserable.  He reminds me of Christian Bale's character in The Fighter.

well they threw it together too fast and his friends were annoying.

i think its gonna be just Charlie from now on.

I also thought it was gonna be something else and most people probably thought he was gonna slam CBS etc and be like an uncensored interview on all that. so when it wasn't it kinda missed the mark.

like a movie u expect to be one thing and is something else. It sucks but if u had known what it was going in, u might have liked it better.

Well if they are thinking of carrying that show on without Charlie, they are just asking for a slow death of Two And A Half Men. It wasn't near as good as it was before, even with Charlie still being in it, due to the kid being all grown up and the show having a different direction.

But without Charlie, it will be just a trainwreck. The show is all about Sheens' character and if they try to bring in another person thus altering the shows feel significantly, they might as well end the show for good, period.  :P

Title: Re: Charlie Sheen
Post by: Axl4Prez2004 on March 07, 2011, 06:40:44 PM
Maybe they could bring back Coy and Vance from the old Dukes of Hazzard.  (they were the replacements for Bo and Luke when they were holding out for more money)  :)
Temporarily, CBS could do well with cameos by guest actors playing Charlie's role or Charlie's brother-in-law...whatever.

Hell, bring in Ted "Golden Pipes" Williams for some cheap laughs.

I don't think they will try to continue TAHM without Sheen. Everybody knows it was on it's last legs anyway after eight years. They make a lot of money out of syndication alone, so it's no biggie for them.

Well CHarlie says that the writers/creators of Two And A Half Men took their focus off the show and started spending more time on their other shows and he thinks they are using him as the scapegoat to end it.

Sounds very plausible. They can't axe the show because it's very popular and the creators are writers / producers for quite a number of other shows. Charlie's lifestyle is nothing new, so I tend to believe this as well.
This is why I think CBS is not bothered with TAHM any more and is looking to bring something else to that time slot. Shame.

Title: Re: Charlie Sheen
Post by: D on March 07, 2011, 11:51:02 PM
plus throw in the payroll..

Reality TV is so cheap to make. New series u pay the actors very small per episode

between Charlies almost 2 million, the little kid got like 200k or something and u know John Cryer at least was getting 250 or 500k per episode.... so they made their money on the cheap, now the salary demands are getting high, they want to wrap it up.

Replacing Sheen on this show will work out as well as Sheen replacing Michael J Fox on Spin City

I think taking shots at the show's creator in the media is probably what did it. I think they made this decision some time ago and it took some time to shoot it by the lawyers and making sure they weren't putting themselves in a legal mess. Charlie may have even been somewhat aware this was gonna happen.

Also, at some point Charlie has really become bigger than the show. How could anyone separate him from the character at this point? And wouldn't the character have looked really boring compared to the real Charlie.

Title: Re: Charlie Sheen
Post by: D on March 08, 2011, 11:42:19 AM
I think Charlie got sick of the show to be honest. I mean he is getting older... his window to film movies etc may be drying up so he may have sabotaged it once they pulled the hiatus shit.

cause really, putting the show on hiatus costs him money but doesn't give him enough time off to film Major League 3 and other movies.

Think of how hot of a commodity Charlie will be for awhile. His next project will be HUGE for the first few episodes or movies as long as they are good.

if i were a struggling network like NBC, I'd sign Charlie in a heartbeat, develop a new series around him immediately. Charlie may have given up 1.8 million an episode, but if he picks the right project, He will do even better than that as long as it doesn't suck.

Seriously, this is comedic gold (intentional or not).  It's like a bad train wreck...you just can't look away. :)

Exactly, and if Two And A Half Men, was really coming to an end anyway. This has probably worked better for Charlie, than if he just kept quiet finishing the series. This happening has made Sheen hot property, and you can bet your arse he is going to win out of this situation.  ;D

i agree. i think charlie is crazy like a fox. all these bloodsucking parasitic "Celebrity Drs" make me want to puke how they exploit addiction for fame, money and ratings.

Charlie will be fine and def has put himself in a much better position. not to mention i heard a lawyer on tv say Charlie has a damn near iron clad case against CBS/Warner, so if Conan got 50 million, Charlie prob will receive a HUGE severance package.

Post by: LunsJail on March 09, 2011, 04:11:09 PM
He's got no case against CBS and won't get a severance package. They fired him for a clause in his contract stating he can't commit felonies which he admitted to with cocaine use. Hey, I'm rooting for the guy but I think he's shooting himself in the foot with all this shit.

Remember: show business is still a business and he's going to be viewed as a bit of a risk now to say the least. I'd say he's going to be uninsurable when it comes to big time movies or TV shows.

Post by: D on March 09, 2011, 04:58:04 PM
he has to be charged with a felony. they had their chance when he had the knife to his wife's throat but they RE-SIGNED him to a new Contract. He obviously didn't hurt the show cause ratings actually went up.

also, where he isn't drinking, maybe he lost weight due to the alcohol bloat going away? He also works out like a madman.

Sheen Sues Warner Bros. & Lorre for $100 Million

56 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

TMZ has learned ... Charlie Sheen  has just filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre, and he's not only demanding he get paid for the 8 scrapped "Two and a Half Men" episodes, he's also suing on behalf of the cast and crew ... and the suit is for $100,000,000 plus punitive damages.

In a scathing preamble, legal pit bull Marty Singer writes in the lawsuit, "Chuck Lorre, one of the richest men in television who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, believes himself to be so wealthy and powerful that he can unilaterally decide to take money away from the dedicated cast and crew of the popular television series, 'Two and a Half Men,' in order to serve his own ego and self-interest, and make the star of the Series the scapegoat for Lorre's own conduct."

Singer alleges the cancellation is based on "Warner Bros. capitulating to Lorre's egotistical desire to punish Mr. Sheen ..."

Singer alleges there was a conspiracy between Lorre and Warner Bros. to blame Charlie for the cancellation.

Singer tells TMZ, the suit is also filed on behalf of the cast and crew, based on what's called a "private attorney general's statute."  To view this in the lawsuit, see page 21, paragraphs 70 - 75.

And this is interesting ... Singer alleges the decision to cancel the 8 episodes was made BEFORE Sheen criticized Lorre, because Lorre allegedly wanted out so he could work on his other shows -- and because he hated Sheen.

The suit points out Warner Bros. renegotiated Charlie's contract when he was facing felony charges in Aspen -- charges Warner Bros. thought would land Charlie in jail.

Singer claims they fired Charlie when he was sick, and that's a violation of State and federal law.

Congrats to Charlie for securing the tour, I personally would love to go to one of these gigs, come to the UK, Charlie.  ;)

Well today on Comedy Central, they were showing Two And A Half Men, all day. I watched a few episodes, and this stuff is better than I remembered, I should buy the boxset or something. And also I have to say that John Cryer, who plays Alan, Charlies brother is a great match for Sheens' character to bounce off of.

Those two, are in my view one of the best double acts in the comedy world.  : ok:

I actually think the crowd got what they deserved, and no it's no fault of Charlies. What did people expect to see when they turned up to this, everything set up perfectly, and everything scheduled like clockwork.  :P

No, this is basically Charlies open mic night in a bar, and people have flocked to see him because of recent events. Charlie seemed to do exactly what I expected him to, which is ramble on and on about worthless and pointless stuff, to make his ego bigger.

I would have enjoyed this if I was lucky enough to go, and some people was actually cheering and was supporting the show. But as we all know too well, sometimes there's a bad vibe in the crowd and then it's all down hill from that point, for everyone involved.

I'm betting the next shows will go fine.  :D

I tend to not listen to too many media or fan reviews.

Look at GNR when you would hear these terrible reviews and know that it was just like small percentage with the loudest voices.

out of 5 thousand, let's say 1000 hated it and left, bitched etc.. its going to seem terrible when in reality maybe the other 4k thought it was great.

Well I have been watching the last couple of episodes of Two And A Half Men (so far). And I have to say, that Charlie does look rough and he seems to have lost weight in the face and body. If you compare the recent episodes to the earlier ones, you will noticed alot of difference in Charlies appearence.  ???

It most probably is all of the drugs he's doing.  :-\

I mean his brother in the show is actually bigger and more stockier than him in the last couple of shows. When before it was always the other way round, with Alan being the small, scrawny character.

No matter what happens in Charlies proffessional life, I hope he manages to put some weight back on.  :'(

Really, though, why do any of us even fucking care?  Seriously.  It's his life.  I have a friend who went to the Detroit show and stayed for the whole thing.  She says they thought it was great and, well, what were people expecting, anyway?  They went with no expectations whatsoever.  Although, she did add that she had more laughs going out with friends afterwards.  It's Charlie Sheen.  It is what it is, for whatever reason......

Show tonight started off fantastic - great energy, good crowd. Slowly over the course of the 45 minute "segment" he calls the show, the crowd turned. People were being kicked out left and right - this drunk lady in front of us took about 30 minutes to be removed from the building after causing a disturbance. 10 minutes after that - show was over.

I was pleased at the fact that I had no expectations going in, but it would have been WORTHWHILE to do a Question/Answer section with the NYC crowd who loved him at first, rather than simply abruptly walk off the stage....

Sheen, studio fight over 'Men' return talks

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Charlie Sheen and the makers of "Two and A Half Men" traded accusations on Thursday over whether the door was still open for the actor's return to the No. 1 television comedy

Warner Bros. Television strongly denied claims by Sheen that the studio was in talks to reinstate him, and made clear there was no chance of the fired star returning to the show.

But Sheen's lawyer insisted that there had been discussions this week about Sheen going back to his role as a womanizing bachelor.

Sheen, formerly the highest-paid actor on U.S. television, was booted out of the CBS series in March after he publicly insulted both the studio and series co-creator Chuck Lorre.

The actor, currently on a bizarre "Violent Torpedo of Truth" stage tour of North America, claimed this week he was in talks with his former bosses and that there was an 85 percent chance he would return.

"Those statements are false. As you know, there have been no discussions, there are no discussions and there will be no discussions, regarding his (Sheen's) returning to or having any involvement with the series," attorneys for Warner Bros. wrote in a letter to the actor's lawyer.

Sheen's lawyer, Marty Singer, told The Hollywood Reporter in response; "That's ridiculous. There absolutely have been discussions.

"As late as this Tuesday there have been discussions about Charlie coming back and everyone was involved," Singer said. He did not say who was involved in the talks.

Last month, there were unconfirmed reports that CBS chief Les Moonves wanted Sheen back.

But the Warner Bros. letter on Thursday appeared to rule out any hope of a reconciliation with Sheen, who has continued to trash his former bosses and some of his co-stars.

Sheen has been in and out of drug rehab in the last 12 months and was convicted last year of assaulting his then-wife. He filed a $100 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. in March for unfair dismissal.

Warner Bros. and CBS have yet to say whether they will bring back "Two and A Half Men" in a different format or with a different star for the 2011-2012 season starting in September.

They have until mid-May to make a decision before the main TV networks present their new season line-up to advertisers in New York.

Ashton Kutcher inks deal to replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'

The new star of "Two and a Half Men" doesn't date goddesses -- he's married to a Cougar.

Ashton Kutcher signed a deal last night to replace Charlie Sheen on television's top-rated sitcom, a source told The Post.

Kutcher, who previously starred on "That '70s Show," gave his fans a hint that it would happen earlier in the evening, tweeting, "What's the square root of 6.25?"
The answer is 2?.

He'll be earning less than Sheen's $2.5 million per episode, the source said.

The show's producer, Chuck Lorre, is "really happy" that Kutcher is set to come aboard, another source told the Hollywood Reporter.

The 33-year-old Kutcher, married to actress Demi Moore, 48, began negotiations after talks with actor Hugh Grant fell apart.

Sheen was fired from the show in March after spending two weeks making the rounds of media outlets talking trash about Lorre.

Sheen sued Lorre and the studio for $100 million for terminating his contract.

He later went on a month-long tour dubbed "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option," in which he sometimes got booed so badly that he cut the show short.

Too right, I can't even believe they are trying this, it's going to be a disaster...

This has been said many times, but the reason why the show was so popular was simply because Charlie was basically playing himself. All of those jokes, and random moments are down to the viewer knowing that the actor is even worse than the charactor.

Good bye Two And A Half Men, I certainly won't be watching any post Sheen episodes either.  ::)

Yes, bland and obvious jokes...but, for the same reason I will stop on The 3 Stooges if I'm channel-surfing, I occasionally stop on 2 1/2 Men.
Now, make time to watch it?  No.  But, if I want to just mentally check-out for 15 to 20 minutes, I can handle that.  :)

^ that's a good idea. I watched 2.5 men for years and liked it. It was base and crude, but so what? There is no way that Charlie can be replaced. The new show will dive in the ratings, and then the network will have to choose whether to end the show for good or come crawling back to Sheen and ask if he will return. His new asking price per episode? Glad you asked. He said it would take $3 mil per show.

Charlie Harper Dies Tragic Death

"Two and a Half Men" will turn dark for just a minute or two when it premieres in September ... because Alan and Jake will learn Charlie Harper bit the dust.

Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... Chuck Lorre's plan is to make sure Charlie Sheen can NEVER come back on the show.  Although the first show won't be filmed until August 5, producers have been kicking around scenarios, which include Charlie driving a car over a cliff.

Of course, it would be art imitating life, because two of Charlie Sheen's cars went down a cliff on Mulholland Drive.

As for how Ashton Kutcher enters the picture, there's been talk that he buys Charlie's house after Charlie kicks the bucket.

Sources tell us ... the first script still isn't locked and Lorre often makes changes until close to taping, but it's pretty clear -- Charlie Harper is pushin' up daisies.

Two and a Half Men is hysterical! Some of u really don't like it?

If you take the most awful thing that's ever happened in TV, multiplied it by a billion, and anally raped its mother, it still wouldn't be as bad as Two And A Half Men...

Maybe we like to know that celebrities can be fucked up, too, and don't even care - in your face!

it IS an american thing for sure. in the rest of the world, what is seen as daring and rude on 2 1/2 men is nothing compared to what shows in the rest of the world where we have no filter for bad words and whatnot.
but i still like 2 1/2 men
i root for Charlie! go win dude...the show is gonna go ass up with Ashton replacing you!

and how does Alan and Jake fit into Ashton buying the house?
i think Berta should take over for Charlie, and they put in another housekeeper instead.....i mean, Charlie already gave the house to Berta in his will in some episode where Emilio Estevez died.
anyway, the show will suck ass without Charlie, even though he just acts himself. he's still a funny and likeable bastard.

Charlie Sheen had to halt baseball training for a new sequel to his hit movie Major League on Sunday after injuring his elbow during practice.

The former Two And A Half Men star is set to appear in the fourth installment of the satirical sporting franchise and has been practicing his pitching at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Bosses of the baseball team have posted a picture of Sheen mid-practice on Twitter.com, alongside the words, "Charliesheen took BP (baseball practice) earlier today as he prepares for next Major League movie. #WINNING."

But the actor had to finish his session early after rupturing the ulnar nerve in his elbow, preventing him from being able to grip the bat properly, reports TMZ.com

I saw abit of when the funeral speech was taking place with Alan at the healm...and I got to say it was just horrible. It was like it was a parody of the actual show, and it wasn't real at all. They can't replace Sheen and this new version will tank, you watch.  :o

Result = Charlie Wins Again...  : ok:

Isn't it doing just as well in the ratings though?

I lost interest in the Charlie Sheen saga.  He was far more interesting when he was on the brink of destruction.  Let me know when he flies off the deep end again.

Ashton Kutcher is a douche.   Charlie Sheen is a WINNER.  I swear I stopped watching 2 And A Half Men right after the funeral part, and even that wasn't funny.

Charlie Sheen's 'Anger Management' sitcom gets June premiere date

Cable network FX has set June 28 as the premiere date for Charlie Sheen's new sitcom "Anger Management."

The show will debut with two episodes, The Wrap reported Tuesday. On subsequent Thursdays, new episodes will air on FX at 9:30pm, with the previous week's episode airing before it at 9:00pm.

"Anger Management," in which Sheen plays a therapist, is loosely based on the 2003 film of the same name, which starred Jack Nicholson and funnyman Adam Sandler.

Sheen, 46, was the highest-paid actor on television when he was booted from the CBS hit "Two and a Half Men" in March 2011 for engaging in a public battle with show creator Chuck Lorre after Sheen's hard-partying lifestyle sidelined production.

Denise Richards is going to be on the pilot.

As far as Two and a Half Men go - they had 2 years to go and Charlie had his bender. This was more for Jon Cryer and Angus Jones to keep working and easy money because there's still a big audience tuning in.

I'm pretty sure Chuck Lorre and Ashton Kutcher are going to have a talk about working on a spinoff, but the way things look, don't see CBS supporting it.

He's on Fallon tonight.  Anybody see it?  Does he look weird?  He's trying to act normal, that's weird too.  Love Fallon's line, you've had a busy year.  :hihi:

2.5 men has been moved to Thursday nights, starting in fall 2012. The show held the Monday night slot for more than a decade. I think this is a sign that show is in decline and cannot hold its own against football or basically anything else on TV that night. I tried watching a few episodes last year and the writing was so stupid that I could not endure and changed channels after about 5-10 minutes. Ashton cannot hold a candle to Charlie, so the network ends up the loser because the show does not have long to live.

Chuck Lorre is seeing it through to the end, if it's still bringing in money, why stop? Maybe Ashton gets a spinoff show from it, which is what should have been the plan over this past year. The show in syndication is still making insane amounts of money.

It's definitely dropped a bit in both quality and ratings (keep in mind, I'm not a fan).  Make note though...when it comes to ratings..it's only been a bit.  It averaged about a 5.0 (though it had slipped to around a 4.0, week by week, by sesons end).  They had about 14.6 million viewers..right about average for the series run.

But CBS is making a run at a solid comedy block, to compete with NBC's older (and, in the case of the Office, ending) block.  They FINALLY seen an inroad to challenge NBC's dominance on Thursdays. They made Big Bang work last year (almost literally killing Community...which is a great show), and they're thinking by bringing over Two and a Half Men...they might be able to get a bigger foothold.

With 2 Broke Girls taking off last season, they think they have Monday pretty much anchored this year (between that and How I met your mother....they're set).  This isn't about a dying show...it's about using a show that still gets eyeballs to get more ad buys on a different night...a night that has typically been the tentpole of ONE network for a very long time.

I basically agree 100%, Charlie is everything and everything what made that show popular. I personaly haven't watched a full episode of the show featuring Ashton, I just loved Charlies character and persona too much.  :-\
